Differential Shaft Lock Bolt
Fits GM vehicles 1994-90, Ford 2003-80,
Ford cars and trucks 2003-80. Retains
pinion shaft. Must be removed to perform
rear differential work or when replacing rear
axle shafts. Bolts break, wear out or are
often misplaced.
Pinion collar sleeves can only be “crushed”
once. Always replace whenever the bearings
or seals are replaced. Often, several are
required when setting ring pinion backlash.

After properly installing gear and aligning pin hole in gear with hole in shaft,
choose the appropriate drill bit to finish drilling out the opposite side of the pin
hole in the new gear. Remove any debris created in this process.
Ford 3.8L, 5.0L, 5.8W 1995-69.
Securely support gear shank to install the roll pin avoiding damage to critical
surfaces. Once the roll pin is installed, it should be lightly staked in place using a
center punch.

specifications. Failure to do so may result in distributor gear, camshaft or
