Exterior View Open passive door by rotating thumb turn to unlock hardware. Then push down on handle to open passive panel. 3 4 Interior Interior Drill/ Driver 2.5mm Hex Key Handle Escutcheon Plate Screws Escutcheon Plate Screws Loosen handle set screw with a 2.5 mm hex key. Remove two (2) escutcheon plate screws with a drill/driver and save for reuse. 5 Interior Escutcheon Plate Exterior Escutcheon Plate Remove interior and exterior handle/escutcheon plates and save for reuse. 9069252 2 6 Exterior Drill/Driver Center Strike Plate Drill/Driver Top and Bottom Strike Plates Remove screws attaching top, center and bottom strike plates. Save screws for reuse. 7 Center Strike Plate Dust Cap Exterior Top and Bottom Strike Plate Dust Caps Center Strike Plate Top and Bottom Strike Plates Remove center strike plate and dust cup and save for reuse. Remove top and bottom strike plates and dust cups and save for reuse. 8 Exterior Weight of window/door unit(s) and accessories will vary. Use a reasonable number of people with sufficient strength to lift, carry, and install window and door unit(s) and accessories. Always use appropriate lifting techniques. Active Door Panel Passive Door Panel Support passive panel before removing panel hinge screws. 9069252 3 9 Interior 10 Passive Panel Hinge Cup #12 x 1 1/2" Screws Hinge Shims Note position and quantity. Drill/ Driver Note position and quantity of shims in hinge routes. Remove hinge cups and shims from each hinge route and save for reuse. Remove four (4) #12 x 1 1/2" screws from each hinge on panel and save for reuse. Place panel upright against a stable surface. 11 12 Hinge Cup Interior Hinge Shims Note position and quantity. Passive Panel #12 x 1 1/2" Screws If replacing an outswing panel apply a light coat of silicone to all hinge routes on panel before reapplying hinge cups. Drill/ Driver Position hinge cups and shims in hinge routs on new panel at locations noted in previous step. Hold shims in place with a dab of sealant. 13 Support door panel at all times while attaching panel to hinges on frame using screws saved from previous step. Center Strike Plate Dust Cap Exterior Top and Bottom Strike Plate Dust Caps Center Strike Plate Top and Bottom Strike Plates Reapply saved center strike plate and dust cup. Reapply saved top and bottom dust cups and strike plates. Secure with saved screws. 9069252 4 14 15 Door Panel Plate Exterior Interior Exterior Escutcheon Plate/ Gasket Handle Spindle Interior Escutcheon Plate Interior Escutcheon Plate Align handle spindle with slot in lock mechanism and position exterior escutcheon plate/gasket assembly against door panel. Place interior escutcheon assembly against door panel with tail piece on thumb turn aligned with slot in lock mechanism. Check for proper operation of thumb turn. 16 17 Interior Interior 2.5mm Hex Key Drill/Driver Handle Fasten interior escutcheon plate using saved screws. Tighten handle set screw with a 2.5 mm hex key. Remove two (2) escutcheon plate screws and dispose of properly. 18 19 Thumb Turn Handle Exterior View Exterior Interior Views Close passive door panel. Lock door panel by first lifting up on handle, then turning thumb turn counterclockwise. Close and lock active door panel.
