It was not only an exploration into their creativity but also a discovery – how make a Ganesha idol all by themselves!
People of different age groups took part in this voyage, organised by RR Nagar—I Care Trust.
The eco-friendly Ganapa drive was spearheaded by students of National Hill View Public School, who had attended a workshop on how the idol could be made from natural clay instead of buying a heavily painted Plaster of Paris idol.
The drive was aimed at educating residents on the harmful effects of immersing painted Ganesha idols in local lakes and offer an alternative.

When my nine-year-old daughter mandated that she be taken to the movie Jurassic World, I agreed quite reluctantly because I really am not a dinosaur fan.
But I quickly got sucked into her excitement as I saw her gearing up for the movie.
She not only read up on dinosaurs but rattled off every piece of information she knew about them!
To be a part of the child’s excitement is what I learnt from the book Playful parenting , by
Lawrence J. Cohen.
The author points out how we most often unnecessarily snub children.
I now completely agree with him that a bit of playfulness from adults lightens up the mood for them as well as the children.

Dr. K.N.Seetharamu, formerly Professor at IIT-Madras and PESIT Bengaluru, was felicitated by Sir M. Visvesvaraya Educational and Cultural Forum on Sir MV’s birthday, and honoured with the title Vidyadaana Shiromani .
Dr. Gajana Sharma, who was a senior executive in KPTCL and has written five books on Sir MV, presided over the function and spoke about Visvesvaraya’s life and achievements. The forum, founded by T.M. Suryanarayana, T.V.
Subbana, A.S. Rangaswamy, T. Raghu and C.K Umesh, has decided to take up several activities to commemorate Sir MV’s contribution to society.
