My specific thanks to Miss Tong and Miss Wong from our music department who offered me such a great opportunity to be one of the KTS Angels for the performance during this year’s Christmas party. I am so proud that I was assigned to play violin solo during the school visit to Shenzhen. All these events added terrific colour to my primary school memories. I am most grateful to Miss Wong, our class teacher. Thanks to Miss Wong, I started to love Maths and got full marks in a Maths test for the first time in Primary 5. I am proud of being a student in KTS and I will do my best in my future school to be a key contributor to our society. Yours sincerely, Heidi Suen Outdoor Visits Every year, students have outdoor visits related to the subject they are learning. During the visits, students have the opportunity to develop their interpersonal and social skills. Outdoor Visit – P.1 Kowloon Tong Fire Station 6A Felicity So Our P.1 students are holding the heavy fire hose. It seems that they are very professional! ‘Go! Go! Go!’ Our brave little firefighters are sliding down the fire pole to put out the fire and save people’s lives. The fireman is talking about the equipment used to put out a fire. Our P.1 students are listening very attentively. Outdoor Visit – P.3 Hong Kong Heritage Museum 5A Dorothy Chiu They are very happy to have their photo taken with a robot. Are you interested in knowing what the robot can do? Look! The P.3 students are actively participating during the outdoor visit. The students are playing some stick games. I think they are enjoying the game very much. Students’ Corner In order to celebrate our school’s 75th anniversary, we asked the students and their parents to write an article. Students were asked to write down their feelings about studying in KTS, and their parents were asked to express why they thought KTS was such a special place to send their children. Students’ Feelings about Studying in KTS 6D Venus Chow My name is Chow Tsz Tung, Venus. I have been studying in this school for almost six years. Kowloon Tong School has given me a lot of fun. There are a variety of subjects and activities provided, such as Chinese, English, Mathematics, different sports teams and drama classes. The subject that I most like at this school is Music. Music teachers have taught me how to sing and play musical instruments. When I have some difficulties, I will ask the music teacher. She is very kind and patient towards me. I have been a member of the School Orchestra for two years. I play the violin. I am proud of being a member of the orchestra. I have entered a competition with the orchestra, and we won the second runner-up prize. The thing I love about this school is the school environment. It provides us with fresh air because there are a lot of trees and beautiful flowers. A lot of facilities can be found in our school, such as KTS TV station, computer room, library, music room, etc. I feel very happy that I can be a student at Kowloon Tong School. Teachers and schoolmates are very kind and friendly. When I leave this school, I will never forget them. Parents’ writing about the school 6D Parents of Venus Chow Thanks so much to you and all the teachers. All of you are so kind and patient to guide and teach our daughter Chow Tsz Tung. We appreciate your efforts so much. During these past six years, we have learned a lot and tried hard to meet your school’s educational policy to balance all aspects of child development. We were so happy to hear the good news that Venus had become a student of Kowloon Tong School six years ago. It seemed that we had won first prize! Kowloon Tong School is a very renowned, elite school in this area. And also the unique campus style, spacious classrooms, sports playground and green campus which is really our dream school. We felt very happy that our daughter could be a student at KTS. Venus had a hard time keeping up the school programme in the first few years. Both of us were too busy with our own business in China. Although we hired private tutors to help her, it didn’t work. We were invited to discuss her situation with the class teacher several times. We were given a lot of effective methods to encourage and help her. Now, she has improved and she is much better than before. Due to this, we really appreciate all your care and teaching. We have been proven correct in choosing your school from the beginning and we are proud of your school and all that it stands for. Consultant: Headmistress Yeung Mee Kuen Committee members: Che So Yin, Chan Sze Mun, Tong Ka Wai Justin Sellers, Oreen D’souza 6A Ruby Yeung My name is Yeung Nga Ching, Ruby. I am studying in 6A. I have studied in KTS for nearly six years. I like studying in KTS because it’s a place where I have many happy memories. I like the headmistress and my teachers because they are kind and nice to me. They are caring and responsible too. They do not only teach and allow me to gain greater knowledge, but also guide me to be a well-behaved student. I also get along well with my classmates. We always help each other with our studies. Some of them have become my good friends! I feel honoured to study in KTS. It is a single-storey building and it is spacious. It provides all KTS students with a pleasant learning environment. Besides this, KTS offers us many opportunities to take part in different extra-curricular activities. Our teachers always encourage and support us to do our best. I had an unforgettable experience. Last year, I took part in an inter-school table tennis tournament. I was defeated at the last minute. I felt very disappointed and almost cried, but my teacher said that I had done my best and praised me for my effort. I was touched by his support! I am proud to be a student of KTS; however, I shall have to say goodbye soon as I will graduate from KTS this year. I will miss my teachers and classmates very much. I am also grateful to the headmistress and teachers for their help and guidance. I wish you all the best for the future! 6A Parents of Ruby Yeung Six years ago, we made the right decision – sending our daughter, Yeung Nga Ching, Ruby, to Kowloon Tong School (Primary Section). Ruby used to be shy and introverted at kindergarten. She didn’t like to join class activities and play with other students. We were very concerned about her personal growth and development. Like many other parents in Hong Kong, we tried hard to find a primary school which could offer a balanced and diversified high-quality education for our daughter. In view of our daughter’s changes over the past six years, our decision proved to be fruitful. Ruby is studying in 6A now. She likes to help with the housework at home. She enjoys her studies and extra-curricular activities at KTS. She is willing to participate in different school activities. She tries to improve her abilities in learning and sports by using her own initiative. She also enjoys helping her teachers and making friends with her classmates. We attribute our daughter’s positive attitude to the teachers’ guidance and devotion. In addition, we are also impressed with the school’s support for students and parents. We are always kept in touch with school activities and the students’ school life. We are very grateful to all the teaching staff at KTS for their whole-hearted dedication to nurturing and teaching our daughter.
