HOUSING MOUNTING OPTICS PROTECTION A cast aluminum ballast housing is attached to an oval aluminum extrusion. Reflectors are spun aluminum with an anodized finish. Cast aluminum rings secure the tempered borosilicate glass lens. The cast aluminum housing is securely fastened to a cast aluminum wall plate which then mounts onto a standard junction box. An anodized aluminum reflector maximizes light output and different combinations of uplight and downlight distribution patterns are available. Optics can be modified with either a prismatic or a frosted lens. A tempered borosilicate flat glass is siliconed to a robust cast aluminum frame. A one-piece cast aluminum arm houses the ballast for safe installation, operation and maintenance. MAINTENANCE ELECTRICAL PULSE START METAL HALIDE COMPACT FLUORESCENT Simply loosen the captive screws to remove the lens for quick and easy access to the lamp. All components are mounted onto a single plate for easy maintenance. Standard metal halide and highpressure sodium luminaires are supplied with core and coil CSA/UL listed ballasts. All ballasts are guaranteed for at least 2 years directly from the ballast manufacturer. Pulse start metal halide luminaires are supplied with standard uniform pulse start systems suitable for universal lamp mounting. Pulse start systems are guaranteed directly from the manufacturer for 5 years. Compact fluorescent luminaires are supplied with electronic ballasts. Models 1050 and 1052 (refer to page 6) provide a glare-free illumination with full cutoff optics, directing all light beneath the horizontal plane. The 1000 Dramatek Series pendants are available with the option of a field adjustable stem. This offers increased flexibility when determining the pendant’s total length. The stem remains straight on a ceiling slope of up to 30 degrees. Please specify when ordering, contact the factory for more information. SMOOTH HOUSING Most of the luminaires in the 1000 Dramatek Series are available with a smooth cast aluminum ballast housing, without the heat dissipating fins. The sleek and modern aesthetics of the smooth ballast housing option allow the luminaire to blend in seamlessly within any architectural surrounding. DIVERSIFIED ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING BY www.dalslighting.com 21 SUMMARY The 1000 Dramatek Series offers a wide selection of mounting configurations and a number of lighting and electrical features. The robust properties of these cylinders make them favourable options for lighting schools, shopping centres, airports and stadiums. Features in the Dramatek Series inlcude smooth or ribbed housings, HID or compact fluorescent lamps, frosted and prismatic lens covers and pendants equipped with field adjustable stems. The cylinders are manufactured from rugged cast aluminum components. Standard cylinders generally use a High Intensity Discharge bulb that emits an intense light. A Metal Halide light source is most commonly used for indoor applications since it emits a bluish-white light that is much more pleasing to the eye than the yellow-orange light of a High Pressure Sodium source.
