Sixth Grade-Yellow Team

Welcome to the C.J. Hooker Middle School. We are happy to inform you that you have been placed on the sixth grade Yellow Team. We ask that you come with the following supplies:

One 2” durable binder

Three 1” binders

One pencil case for binder

2 pocket folders with holes

2 - hard cover marble composition books

Loose leaf paper (ample supply)

#2 Pencils (ample supply)

Colored pencils (any brand- small box is fine)

Blue/black pens

Highlighters

Post it Notes

2 black Sharpies

5 - 10 dividers

Tissues (one box)

For Math:

A basic 4-function calculator with a square root key

Optional:

3X5 Index Cards

Scissors

You do not need to have all of these supplies with you the first day of school.

To be collected for general use by the students:

Two boxes of tissues

One Package of pencils

To be collected for student’s personal use during the year:

Two yellow highlighters

One large glue stick

Crayons (pkg. of 8 twistable - recommended)

Package of Post-It notes (3x3)

For you to keep:

One durable pocket folder to fit into a three-ring binder

One marble composition notebook

One pencil case for three-ring binder

Loose leaf paper -Bring a small amount. Leave at home to restock later.

Math 8 - Scientific calculator (NOT a graphing calculator) – Math 8 Students

Algebra I students may purchase a graphing calculator (TI 83 or 84), but are not required to bring it to school. One will be available during class.

 One 1 inch 3 ring binder or a section in a larger binder

 300 3x5 index cards

2 pocket folders with clips (Biology only)

5 binder/book rings (these are metal rings, like in a binder, that will be used to hold index cards) either Two 1½” or Four 1” (Physical Science only)

Larger size college ruled spiral notebook (8½”x11) with minimum of 100 pages (Physical

Science only) – the regular (smaller sized) are not ideal

Scientific calculator (used for both Math and Science) – Physical Science only

Social Studies:
