Requirements for Award of Qualification
Award of NQF Qualifications
Credit gained for a standard may be used only once to meet the requirements of this qualification.

Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions

There have been no candidates for examinations for the NZCBI since 1993. The Local
Government Industry Training Organisation will not automatically recognise any subjects

People who have completed the academic requirements for NZCBI but have not
completed the work experience requirements had until 31 December 2001 to complete
these requirements. The last date for award of the New Zealand Certificate in Building
Inspection was 30 June 2001.
Potential students for NZCBI have been advised in the AVA Handbook since 1995 that
tuition in some subjects for NZCBI may no longer be available. NZQA undertook to
endeavour to identify students who may not have completed this qualification and to
advise them of the arrangements in the previous paragraph.
