UNECE Working Party on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, which will be held from 11 – 21
September 2007 at the Palais des Nations1) in Geneva. The first session will begin on Tuesday,
11 September 2007 at 10.00 a.m.

EXPLANATORY REMARKS
1.
Adoption of the agenda
The first item on the agenda concerns its adoption. The Joint Meeting will also have before it
the report of its March 2007 session (Berne, 26 to 30 March 2007 (ECE/TRANS/WP.15/
AC.1/106 and addenda).

Delegates are requested to complete the registration form available for download at the UNECE Transport Division’s website (http://www.unece.org/trans/registfr.html). It should be
transmitted to the UNECE secretariat no later than one week prior to the session by email
(mireille.chavet@unece.org) or by fax (41 22 917 0039). Upon arrival at the Palais des Nations, delegates should obtain an identification badge at the UNOG Security and Safety Section, located at the Pregny Gate (14, Avenue de la Paix). In case of difficulty, please contact
the secretariat by telephone (ext.71252 or 73271). For a map of the Palais des Nations and
other useful information, see website http://www.unece.org/meetings/practical.htm.
The following points should be borne in mind:

At its session in September 2006, the Joint Meeting elected Mr. C. Pfauvadel (France) as
Chairman and Mr. H. Rein (Germany) as Vice-Chairman for 2007.
b)
Documents published in German by the Secretariat of OTIF (other than invitations and reports) under the symbol OTIF/RID/RC/ are circulated by the UNECE in English, French
and Russian under the symbol ECE/TRANS/WP.15/AC.1/, followed by the same document number. As part of the secretariat’s efforts to reduce expenditure, documents sent
out by e-mail and post will not be available in the conference room. Delegates are kindly
requested to bring their copies of documents to the meeting.
c)
The
documentation
is
available
on
the
OTIF

in
German

The Joint Meeting would, if necessary, like a working group to meet concurrently with it to
consider documents concerning tanks (item 2), after this item has been discussed in plenary.
e)
The Joint Meeting would, if necessary, like an ad hoc working group to meet outside the
times of the plenary session to consider documents concerning standards (item 3), in accordance with the mandate to be decided by the Joint Meeting.
f)
A provisional timetable will be circulated as an informal document at a later stage.
