We are a traditional and innovative Czech manufacturer of modular electronic devices, and have been your partner in wired
and wireless solutions for over two decades. By now, we have

EP Holding recorded a 5% annual growth in revenue in 2011.
The iNELS product line of intelligent wiring systems played a
crucial role in this robust development. This is also an indication that the course we set for ourselves is the right one, and

guarantee for first-rate cooperation with you – our partners.
The newly introduced brand iNELS Smart Home Solution offers one of the most complex solutions anywhere on the market. Thus, in a single system, you have not only wiring system
control, but also an elegant solution for controlling multimedia, home appliances and even protection of the most precious things and persons in your life. In 2011, we introduced to
the market the wireless unit RF Touch, which streamlines the
RF Control units into a full-fledged system that you can use

wirelessly. This product earned us the Golden Amp Award
and the chance to participate in the Innovation of the Year
Award in 2011, where it held up well in competition against

step forward for us. We embraced new territories, we focused
on a new target group – consumers themselves – and we joined

Company development
1993
The beginnings of ELKO EP, s.r.o. reach back to the year when
Jiří Konečný entered the market with his first product – a
switching block for electrical heating. He soon discovers an
attractive opportunity in manufacturing modular devices,
and enters the market a year later with the first multifunction
timer relay MFR. In time, after creating from a „family workshop“ a company with quality development background and
modern manufacturing technology on a comparable level
with developed nations.
1996
Production in this year included SMD technology, meaning
that around 80 % of the components are not fitted and soldered manually, but on automated machines and soldering
lines. Constant development in the given area compelled the
company to take this step, as did demands for quality, dimensions, service life and capacity of manufactures. The manufacturing areas are completely furnished in antistatic design, from
floors to clothing. Output control is performed in two phases,
bound to long-term testing of selected products, because cer-
tain hidden faults may not appear immediately. Another important investment was manufacture of our own plastic injection molds, which form the casings for our products.
1997
In this year, Jiří Konečný forms the company ELKO EP, s.r.o.,
and thanks to its own production and development of modular devices, it becomes the dominant domestic manufacturer.
This dynamic company development is founded upon its
own products, whose utility features, quality of course price
have found their place on the market.
1999 Golden Product – one of ELKO EP’s first awards
At the trade fair Elektrotechnika 99, the super-multifunction SMR
relay won the “Golden Product” award (in the field of automation).
2000 New headquarters
An important milestone in the development of the company
was building its own headquarters, concentrating production,
development and administration into a single complex. In the
modern three-story building with over 900m2 in floor space,

manufacturing areas fill the ground floor, with development
and administrative areas upstairs. When designing these new
areas, we mainly focused on logistics and handling, as well as
quality conditions for our employees to work in.
2001 ISO 9001 – customer satisfaction guarantee
This year, our company earned certification in a quality management system according to ISO 9001:2001 standards including CQS, and international participation in the IQ-NET
network. This is how we guarantee our customers constant
quality of our products long into the future. Our company
received honorable mention in the annual AMPER 2001 exhibition for the product SHT digital time switch clock.
2002
Opening the first subsidiary – ELKO EP Slovakia. At this time,
foreign export begins to make up over half of our revenue.
2003 Celebrating our 10
th
birthday
For the 10th anniversary of the company ELKO EP, we prepared
surprises for our customers in the form of anniversary novelties
and several new testimonies of the success we’ve achieved.

ISO 14001 – Environmental protection is a standard playing a vital role in both development and manufacture. We
are pleased to have gained for our company the IQ NET ISO
14001 certificate for the environmental management system.
We earned the silver certificate for integrated management
system in compliance with QMS and EMS requirements.
The company received honorable mention at the AMPER
2003 trade fair for the product Digital monitoring relay for
complete control of 3-phase networks HDUI-3.
2004 Technology Entrepreneur of the Year
JAs the sole company owner, Jiří Konečný competed for the
award twice in a row. He was once a finalist in the competition Entrepreneur of the Year 2004, and the second time as
Entrepreneur of the Year 2004.
2005
ELKO EP opens new manufacturing and administrative
areas in Holešov-Všetuly. ELKO EP forms more subsidiaries –

This year we begin developing and producing the intelligent
and comfortable iNELS electrical installation, designed to
lead the way in company development.
Award Technology
Fast 50
In the 7th year of this sward, ELKO EP placed 27th overall out
of a total of 500 nominated companies in central Europe,
whereas the first 26 ranked companies were mostly involved
in IT. Program Central European Technology. Fast 50 is the
only competition forming a ranking of technological companies operating in Central Europe compiled based on five-year
revenue growth.
2007
This year brings with it a breakthrough in successful introduction of the iNELS intelligent and RF Control wireless control,
which in the years to come change the way our company is
perceived - as a market leader not only for the technical public but also for the ordinary user at home.
In this year we successfully earn the important UL (Underwriter
Laboratories) certificate. Certification occurred for selected
types of relays according to US safety standards. The certificate
is held under the UL file No. E308660. By earning this certificate, we have again proven that ELKO EP products have earned
world recognition also in the quality process of the entire company. Opening the next subsidiary – ELKO EP Russia.
2008 Celebrating 15 years
This year we launch the long-awaited novelty to our product
line, RF Control wireless control. We become the exclusive
product distributor for the company ETI Elektroelement d.d.
The ELKO EP research and development center reaches completion in March 2008. ELKO EP Romania becomes the next
branch in our holding company.
2009
This year we expand our assortment of intelligent switches
and sockets, and we set new values in design of these developed products under the designation LOGUS90. This year also
sees expansion of a branch in the Ukraine.

2010
To maintain this trend, we include into our product line the
long-awaited iNELS Multimedia system, giving the intelligent
electrical installation a new dimension and bringing customers, besides management and control of individual parts of
the home, also fantastic home entertainment – television,
video or browsing photographs.
Within the framework of expanding our subsidiaries, we successfully launch a branch in Germany – ELKO EP Germany. In
terms of export, we penetrate one of the world’s largest markets, China. Even if many of us expected that they would simply copy our products and sell them for a fraction of the price,
the reality is quite the opposite: the Chinese are also clever at
distinguishing quality from price, and high-quality European
products are certainly in demand.
2011
The number of ELKO EP Group employees exceeds 250. This
is mainly thanks to the expanding new branches in Romania,
the Ukraine and Russia.
Golden Amp
It was a huge honor for us at the international trade fair Amp
to accept their highest award for our Czech product RF Touch.
But it wasn’t the only award; a spontaneous surprise followed
in the form of yet another award - the annual prize of the
Czech and Moravian Electrical and Electronic Association- for
the same product.

1993
The first product that Jiří Konečný founded his company
upon - ELKO. The delay unit served (and still does) to gradually switch electric heating contactors (electric boilers, convectors, etc.). The simple timer with the NE555 circuit enables
adjustable delayed switching from 0 to 30 sec. Output relay
with max. current of 1,25 A. DIN rail mounting further determined the direction of company development.
1998 CRM-5
1998
The first multifunction timer relay to use a microprocessor as
the control element. Paradoxically, the device took on even
greater complexity, and the number of functions decrease to
8. The time range was increased to 0.1 sec – 10 hrs with decimal separation. Variations of input contacts and power supply
the same as for CRM-1/5. The CRM-7 had a galvanically isolated
control input in the range AC/DC 12 – 240 V.
1995
1995 MFR-1200
For the first multi-function timer relay, the CMOS timer 4541
was used as the main element. Fitting with classic components and dimensional possibilities did not enable offering
more than 6 functions in the limited time range with output
switching contact relay 8A, and with only AC 230 V power
supply. The device casing purchase price paradoxically
formed 2/3 of the manufacturing price of the entire. device.
1999 CRM-8
1999
Thanks to the new type of processor, the device was simplified significantly. The internal DPS construction was changed
from 3 to 2 – control elements rotated by 90 degrees. The
scope of universal power supply was expanded to AC/DC 24 –
250 V. Used relay with 16 A switching contact (CRM-81 1x16A,
CRM-83 3x8A). Indication of ongoing timing of flashing LED.
Increase of protection from overvoltage and voltage peaks.

The first multifunction timer relay equipped with SMD tech nology, enabling further miniaturization and increasing
product reliability. Functionally equivalent with the previously mentioned MFR1200. This relay was manufactured
exclusively in the OEZ Letohrad enclosure for this company
as an added element for the modular devices series. Power
supply variations AC 230 V, AC/DC 48 V, AC/DC 24 V, DC 12 V.
2000
2000 CRM-9
The first multifunction relay with rotating switch, guaranteeing
greater clarity when setting and controlling. In terms of design, it
is identical to the CRM-8 but has more functions – 16 and greater
time range: 0,1 sec. – 10 days. Attempt to incorporate the company color (yellow) into the enclosures, which did not meet with
the necessary response, so we went back to making the enclosures in gray. Expanded power supply to AC/DC 12 – 240 V.

The first product in its own enclosure. The unique enclosure
construction enables using up to 12 terminals. The control element used is still the CMOS 4541, 10 functions, time range
0,25 sec. – 1 hr. Output relay with 1x switching contact 8 A (for
CRM-1) and 3x switching contact (for CRM-3). First application
of universal supply, so far only AC 24 – 250 V and DC 24 – 48 V.
2001
2001 CRM-9H
A fundamental innovation in the type of microprocessor
with AD converters brought further simplification, increased
performance and accuracy. Instead of switches, switchable
trimmers are used. On the same platform, innovation came
to the time relay CRM-2 (asymmetric cycler CRM-2H and
the delay ON start /delta CRM-2T). 10 functions, time range
same as CRM-9.

Sundown and light switch
SOU-3 – two in one! The light
switch switches on upon ambient
light intensity increase, and off again when light decreases. It
is thus used for example to switch the drive of blinds or an awning or to activate solar panels. It has 3 adjustable light level
ranges and 3 adjustable time delay values (to eliminate shortterm light intensity fluctuations – glare from headlights). The
sundown switch switches on upon an ambient light intensity
decreases, and off again when light increases. It is thus used
for switching lights at twilight and at night (street and garden
lighting, advertisements lights, shop windows, etc.). SOU-3 is
designed for outdoor use with built-in precision light sensor.

2003 CRM-91H
Functionally identical to the previous type CRM-9H, but now
in an innovated single-module enclosure. Besides new quality of plastics and external design, the new enclosure brought
with it a fundamental change in the design appearance of the
front panel and control buttons. Thanks to the flush buttons
(that also also blocked against pulling out or dragging), the
printable space expanded greatly, making print larger and
thus more legible. The clearance height from the DIN rail was
increased to standard 64 mm.
2010 DIM-15
2010
This dimmer is designed to dim LED bulbs
and dimmable energy-saving fluorescent tubes. It enables fluid
setting of light intensity with the button or buttons in parallel. A
short button tress turns the light on or off. A long press enables
fluid regulation of light intensity. Setting the minimum brightness by potentiometer found on the device panel eliminates
flashing of various types of energy-saving fluorescent tubes.

Laser product printing of products replaces tampoprint. This
brings accuracy and description quality, legibility and description of other parts of the enclosure “in one go” on the
fully automatic laser printing line. Each product has its unique
code for its easier identification.

Digital time switch clock with
astronomical program serves to control lighting (billboards,
advertisements, shop windows, etc.) based on the astronomical clock function without using light sensors, can be interrupted. Astronomically controlled switching based on sunrise
and sunset based on the Earth’s position. Preset coordinates
for European cities, option of manual setting of coordinates.

2008 HRN-63
An novelty in the series of monitoring voltage relays is the
HRN-63, which monitors voltage in a range of AC 48 – 276 V.
This type of relay can monitor overvoltage and undervoltage
separately, the same as for the new relay type HRN-67, which
is similar to the HRN-63 in that it monitors voltage in a range
of AC 24 – 150 V. For both these single-phase designs, the lower voltage level (Umin) is set in % of the upper level (Umax).
2012 DA2-22M
2012
This is an upgraded version
of the previous dimmer DA2-22M (dims loads R-L-C). The inin
novated version includes not only R-L-C but also ESL (energy
saving fluorescent lamps) and category 1 and 2 LED light
sources. The load type is selected for every channel by the
switch on the front panel, as is the minimum brightness for
eliminating flickering light at the lower end.

Cooperation with schools
For several years now, we have enjoyed cooperation with
schools and education on intelligent installations is become
a regular part of school curriculum. We supply schools with
training aids in the form of demo models, we provide tours
and excursions for students in the manufacturing complex,
we hold training for teachers, we cooperate on projects and
help prepare bachelor‘s theses and dissertations. We are

Hi-Tech Centre Uherský Brod
It was opened in 2010, attended by the Czech Prime Minister
Petr Nečas and representatives of the Zlín Region as the Center
for Education and Presentation of High Technology at SPŠ high
school in Uherský Brod. Our company also participated in this
project co-financed by the EU with contributions by major Czech
corporations. We thereby certainly rank amongst the advanced,
modern hi-tech companies. The project is an integrated system
of interactive, virtual and physical presentations using the latest scientific findings, research and new technologies in the area
of manufacture, especially in mechanical engineering, electrical
engineering and „green technologies“, which will be augmented
with physical models. The center will include not just the most
modern technologies, butalso virtual technologies (3D projection).
