Ltd. ® FEATURES LM-C SERIES 120210 OPTIONAL REMOTE SENSOR There may be air conditioning installations wherein the wall controller cannot be located in the most ideal position to sense the air temperature. In such situations, it is recommended to use an optional remote sensor instead, which will also perform the specific functions of the wall controller’s “In-built” sensor. DUAL SENSOR OPERATION The AM & LM-Series wall controllers have the provision for the use of two sensors wherein an even and uniform temperature readings will be required, such as in a large room application. Two optional remote sensors can be utilized for this requirement or a combination of one optional remote sensor coupled with the “In-built” sensor of the wall controller. The sensors will ideally be placed on both ends of the room to average the temperature readings. SET POINT DISPLAYED Displaying the Set Point Temperature only and not the room temperature, will clearly indicate the setting temperature and not the actual temperature. Therefore, the display dispels the confusion between room temperature readings and the room set temperature. Such a simple control logic makes the operation much easier to understand. However, the installer can still be able to access the room temperature readings via access code. AUTO HEAT/COOL CHANGE OVER An option to use Automatic Mode wherein the system will automatically select Heating or Cooling mode accordingly, depending on the ambient temperature, in order to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature is a distinct feature included in the AM & LM-Series Wall Controllers. 3- SPEED INDOOR FAN There are three convenient Indoor Fan settings that are standard features of the M-Series controllers, which are: High, Medium and Low. The High-Fan setting is for super responsive and fast delivery of comfort in demand, Medium-Fan setting is designed for normal operation at maximum performance and efficiency, and Low-Fan setting is for quiet operation during sleeping hours and also applied on a zoned system when reduced number of air outlets are operating. FAN ONLY A useful function when the requirement is only for the circulation and filtration of indoor air, without cooling or heating condition. FAN - CONT. FUNCTION With the CONT. (Continuous Fan) selected, the indoor fan will run continuously while the air conditioner is turned on. This is preferred during cooling mode to ensure maximum air circulation. However, during the heating mode it can create an effect of cool drafts. It is then recommended not to have CONT. fan setting selected, so that the indoor fan will cycle On and Off automatically with the outdoor unit. ESP FAN SETTING (ESP ESP PLUS & ULTIMA Models) Depending on the number of open vents or activated zones, the ESP fan mode will automatically adjust fan speed from 20% to 100% in order to deliver just the right amount of airflow required when zoning arrangement is changed. If more airflow is needed to each zone, the manual LOW / MED / HIGH speed is recommended. 2 - SPEED OUTDOOR FAN The microcomputer control will monitor outdoor conditions and will increase or decrease the fan speed in order to give the maximum outdoor unit performance with minimal noise generation. HOT START FUNCTION When the air conditioner starts in heating mode, the indoor fan is delayed for a short period of time. This allows the heat exchanger to warm up before the airflow starts, thereby preventing cold drafts. The hot start feature also activates itself when the system finishes defrosting. TIME DELAY MANUAL OVER-RIDE In some instances, where over-riding the delay timer is necessary, it is possible to cancel the delay timer by pressing the cancel timer’s button. Note that this feature should only be used by a qualified technician/installer. These time delays are programmed for safety and the protection of the air conditioning system. Cancelling the timers may affect system operation and possibly damage the system. The difference between the Cut-In and Cut-Out temperature (the differential) is adjustable from 0.50C to 5.00C. A small differential will maintain a more precise room temperature and a large differential will reduce the number of compressor starts for a more economical operation. The difference between the cooling and heating modes (the dead band) is also adjustable to suit varying conditions. MULTIPLE STAGING AM & LM-SERIES WALL CONTROLLERS With the addition of the 2 stage C.P.U. Board to the Outdoor Unit, the Wall Controller has the capability to control a second stage HEAT / COOL mode and a third stage HEAT for Electric Boost Heater if required. Each day can have two programmed events, wherein each event has ON and OFF Time. ADJUSTABLE OPERATING RANGE AND LOCKABLE SET TEMPERATURE The default operating range is factory set at 160C to 300C. However this can be adjusted to have a lower limit of 100C and an upper limit of 380C. In some cases this could be detrimental to the air conditioning equipment. Therefore the lower and upper limits should never exceed 160C and 300C. The chosen SET POINT can also be locked if required. ZONE CONTROL OPTION Depending on the applicable Wall Controller model, a zone control option is available to control up to 4 zones and 8 zones. The integrated zoning system has a unique feature, where it can select which remote temperature to use depending on which zone is selected. One example is on a two-storey house with only the downstairs zone turned-on. In this case, the zone control will select the downstairs sensor to control the temperature, thereby ensuring perfect comfort in the occupied areas. NOTE: C-Series Wall Controller is only available with 4-Zone option when used with optional CZ-1 230VAC zone controller and third party zone barrels. Ltd. ® FEATURES LM-C SERIES 120210 DUAL WALL CONTROLLER OPERATION (Mimic LOGIC) AM & LM-Series controllers are designed to support an additional secondary controller for total flexibility and optimum comfort control. Dual control offers convenience in controller’s accessibility, particularly with units installed in a large or multistorey home or building. When a second controller is connected, the air conditioning unit can be controlled from either of the wall controllers. NOTE: 1. Combination of two 7-Day wall controllers is not possible. Use two of 24-Hr controllers or a combination of one 24-Hr and one 7-Day programmable. 2. Information displayed on the two wall controllers are identical. 3. Last wall controller used has the priority. HOME AUTOMATION INTERFACE FOR REMOTE ON/OFF SWITCHING The AM, LM-Series and C-Series remote ON / OFF switching option works with most of the Home/Building Management System. The automation function is used to switch the air conditioning system ON or OFF from a remote location, thereby integrating the control of the A/C units with most of the central management system for flexibility of control and to attain maximum comfort at optimum efficiency. Remote ON/OFF switching will also work with normal remote switch or time clock. RETURN AIR FILTER INDICATOR The microprocessor monitors the accumulated run time of the air conditioner and after a preset number of hours has passed, the “FILTER” light will flash, indicating it is time to check if the filter needs cleaning. Time setting is adjustable from 100 to 600 hours or 30 to 370 days, depending on the wall controller model. AUTO RESTART AFTER POWER FAILURE Should a power failure occur while the air conditioner is running, the wall controller will restart the air conditioner in the same mode (set prior to the loss of power) when the power is restored. MINIMUM ONE ZONE ON WITH ENABLE AND DISABLE FEATURE All AM & LM-Series wall controllers has a safety feature of always having at least one zone On to prevent the air conditioning system from unnecessary tripping off. This feature can also be disabled / enabled through the wall controller set-up menu. This added feature is most beneficial when you have a common area and still wants to use the maximum number of zones on the wall controller. NOTE: This feature is only available when wall controller is used with indoor board AMIB-8. SENSOR LOGIC This controller is pre-programmed with sensor logic. It has the ability, where two sensors are used, to detect faults with any one of the sensors and automatically revert to using the readings from the operational sensor. TIME DELAY There are a number of time delays incorporated into the controllers for a high degree of compressor protection. AUTO-DEFROST FUNCTION (HEATING MODE APPLICATION) At certain outdoor conditions wherein the ambient temperature could drop very low, frost may gradually build up on the outdoor heat exchanger which reduces the performance of the air conditioning unit. In some cases, this may cause damage to the heat exchanger if the frost build up becomes excessive. The controllers’ microprocessor can detect this frost build up and will automatically activate the defrost mode, ensuring optimum performance of the system. ESP AUTO MODE In the ESP mode, the Zone Controller will automatically regulate the position of the zone barrel damper in order to ensure that zone temperature requirements are satisfied.
