Emergency Lighting & Exit Signs u Standard Units Emergency Lighting Units COM Series Overview Features The COM Series offers traditionally designed emergency lighting units with maintenance-free 10 year sealed lead-acid batteries. Cabinet is constructed of NEMA 1 heavy-gauge steel with bakedon enamel finish. Each unit contains a solid state charger, a low voltage battery disconnect circuit, an automatic transfer circuit, a test switch and a charge indicator. The unit’s two lighting heads are fully adjustable. The Product Selector chart indicates each unit’s capabilities for remote fixtures and heads. • Universal 120/347VAC operation • Front opening design with baked-on white enamel finish • Fast, easy installation • Standard with line cord • Standard with two fully adjustable MH style 9W PAR 18 heads • Maintenance-free sealed 10 year lead-acid battery • Completely self-contained • Fully automatic 30 minute operation • 20 gauge steel cabinet • Solid-state charger • Temperature compensation • Sealed transfer relay • Low voltage disconnect • Brownout protection • Battery lockout circuit • Dual diagnostic indicator lights • Momentary test switch • Dual fused output circuit • CSA C22.2 141 certified Page 1 of 4 89055-0003 D ATA S H E E T Not to be used for installation purposes. Issue 2 Applications Illumination Commercial, industrial and institutional facilities where flexibility for remote fixtures is required along with a need for a compact and efficient self-contained unit. Standard illumination is provided using 9 watt tungsten PAR 18 lamps, especially designed for emergency lighting. Optional tungsten and halogen lamps are offered in various wattages in PAR 18, PAR 36 and MR 16 styles. Operation All models provide emergency lighting for up to four hours. Operation is completely automatic. The solid-state charger maintains the battery at full charge. Lighting heads and fixtures are automatically connected to the battery upon loss of utility AC. While in emergency operation, battery damage from a deep discharge is prevented by a low voltage disconnect circuit. When normal power is restored, the emergency lighting is extinguished and the charger recharges the battery to its initial state. Recharging is accomplished within acceptable CSA time standards. Charge rate is indicated by a pilot light. A test switch is provided for checking emergency operation. Operation is universal 120VAC or 347VAC.
