1. Description and area of application
PITTWRAP® CF jacketing is a cellulose free fiberglass reinforced vapor retarder insulation jacketing,
used for protecting above ground indoor FOAMGLAS® insulation systems on chilled water and other
moderate temperature service pipelines.
PITTWRAP® CF jacketing consists of a 28 µm (1.1 mil) thick white polypropylene film reinforced with
a fiberglass scrim and laminated to a 12 m (0.5mil) thick aluminized polyester film (bottom) to
assure high level of resistance and protection (puncture and tear resistance).
2. Type of Delivery and Storage
Rolls: 59.7cm x 183m (23.5 in. x 600 ft.)
Shipping weight per roll approx. 8.2 kg (18 lbs.)
PITTWRAP® CF jacketing rolls must be stored indoors away from sources of ignition.
Store rolls on end and protect from mechanical damage.
3. Coverage
Coverage will vary with pipe diameter since proper application requires jacketing to overlap two inches at longitudinal joints.
The required amount of jacketing for a section of insulated pipe can be calculated as follows:
Equation 1. SI, metric Units,
Equation 2. Imperial Units,
Required Jacketing Area* (A)
(Where
= actual pipe diameter in inches or mm, and
A* = [ ( + 2 ) + 50] ÷ 1000
A* = [ ( + 2 ) + 2] ÷ 12
= insulation thickness in inches or mm.)
*Calculation does not include losses
