1. SAFETY NOTICE
 This handbook must be available for all persons working with the equipment: the installer, the
maintenance operator, the end user, etc.
 This equipment is designed to house access control devices (badge reader, token acceptor, coin
meter, intercom station with call button, etc.) and cannot be used for other purposes involving risk
for the user or affecting the functioning of the equipment.
Specifically, the post cannot be used as a shelter for people or tools.
Automatic Systems cannot be held liable for damage resulting from the improper use of the
equipment.
 Do not add non-approved accessories (contact between different metals may result in a battery
effect which is detrimental to the equipment’s rust-proof quality).
 The contractor shall undertake to comply with the local regulations when the equipment is being
installed.
 All work on the equipment must be performed by qualified personnel. Any unauthorised activity or
work undertaken by an unqualified technician in respect of this product shall automatically void the
manufacturer's guarantee.
 Keys allowing access to the inside of the equipment must be used by personnel informed of the
electrical hazards they risk in the case of careless handling (associated with the accessories
which have been loaded). These personnel are required to lock the access door when finished.
 In the event of a collision, even if there appears to be no damage, the equipment must be
thoroughly checked by an approved technician.

7. ON-SITE PREPARATORY WORK
The work to be done in advance of installing the equipment consists of preparing the earth supporting the
post (concrete base) and must be undertaken in keeping with the layout plan.
8. OPENING THE DOOR
The door is opened by turning the key in an anti-clockwise direction.
Do not disconnect the mass cable between the door and the housing.
9. ASSEMBLING THE DOUBLE POST
Assemble 2 single posts using the attachments supplied.

10. SETTING UP THE EQUIPMENT
The post must be fitted on a concrete base (see layout plan), in order to raise it above road level and
prevent water from finding its way inside the post.
Automatic Systems provides a sealing frame, to be buried into this concrete base.
The post will be fixed on the sealing frame, by bolting the 4 points at the level of the oblongs built into the
lower base plate (= the base of the housing):
1. Assemble the sealing frame:
Pass the four anchoring bolts (3) into the holes of the sealing frame (2) using a nut (7a) and a flat
washer (6a) each time. The threaded end of the anchoring bolts must be oriented upwards as
illustrated in Fig. a.
Secure the anchoring bolts on the sealing frame by putting a flat washer (6b) and a nut (7b) on
each threaded rod with a 30 mm tail min. Tighten the nuts. It is advisable to protect the threads
sticking out of the sealing frame from concrete projections by means of adhesive tape.
2. Provide a PVC tube (4) of minimum diameter 60 mm to pass the power supply and remote control
wires (Fig. b).
Ensure that the cables have a minimum of 1 metre out of the concrete base.
3. Construct a concrete base (8) in which the sealing frame is to be buried. The sealing frame must
be flush with the finished level of the concrete base and perfectly horizontal (Fig. b).
4. When the concrete is dry, remove the adhesive protection tape from the threads, remove the nuts
(7b), the flat washers (6b), put the post housing onto the concrete base and maintain it by means
of the washers (6b) and the nuts (7b) (Fig. c). The concrete base is designed smaller than the
barrier housing in order to prevent water stagnating at the bottom of the housing.

12. ATTACHING ACCESSORIES INSIDE THE POST

The accessories can be attached to the angle brackets (5, sec. 4. ), using the 4 M6 cage bolts
foreseen.

Accessories can also be attached to the resin panel (3, sec. 4. ), which is easily cut with a saw.
13. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The electrical connections for the accessories fitted inside the post must be carried out as described in
the handbook dealing with these devices.
14. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Maintenance must be carried out as laid down in the safety regulations, section 1.
Frequency
Operation to be carried out
Clean the housing with water and a non-corrosive detergent (specifically, nonchlorinated).
According to
the level of
soiling
(see opposite)
Repair any scrapes, blows or scratches on the painted surface of the equipment.
Note: maintenance frequency must be adapted to the use conditions of the equipment,
particularly if it is located in an oxidation-encouraging environment: at the entrance to a
swimming pool (where the atmosphere is heated and chlorinated), near the sea, in an
industrial environment, etc.
Check the state of the door’s weather-sealing.
If necessary, grease the hinges using a multi-purpose grease such as Molykote.
Annually
Check that all nuts and bolts are tight, particularly:

The bolts attaching the post to the ground.

The bolts attaching the resin plate to the casing.

The accessory attachment bolts.

The bolts attaching the canopy to the housing.
