The example seen follows a formula similar to that used on the large silver version: "AWARDED 1N (year) TO (rank. name, unit) FOF~ RECONNAISSANCE WORK". Ribbon: A neck ribbon in the colors red, green, red. green, black, wh,te, black, green, red. green, and red, proportions not known. The colors are based on the MacGregor tartan.-" The special gold medal Obverse: The same as the small silver type. Reverse: The same as the small silver type. Metal: 18 karat gold. Suspension: None, a table medal. Weight: Unknown. Diameter: Exactly the same as the samll salver version, approximately 45ram (1-3/4 inches). Naming: Unknown, but presumed to be similar in style of naming to the two silver versions. Ribbon: None, a table medal.
