This Addendum shall be recognized by all concerned parties as an incorporated part of the
contract documents. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the space
provided in Section V – Bidder’s Section, page 239 of the Contract Documents, when submitting
bids. The contractor shall assure himself that all changes and interpretations covered by the
contents herein are thoroughly understood and are fully accounted for in the contract price.

AMENDMENTS TO STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
Standard Special Provision (SSP) S1-020H E A_10-19-12.doc contains the current
amendments to the Standard Specifications and is considered part of these special

Modification to the contract documents under Section IV – Special Provisions,
10-1.04 Temporary Erosion Control (ref. Bid Schedule Item 3), p. 138:
Paragraph 2 under “Measurement and Payment” has been revised to:
“The contract price paid per square yard for temporary erosion control includes full
compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals,
and for doing all the work involved in applying temporary hydroseed, complete in
place, including removal of hydroseed, as specified in the Standard Specifications and
these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer.”

Modification to the contract documents under Section IV – Special Provisions,
10-1.05 Street Sweeping (ref. Bid Schedule Item 4), p. 139:
Paragraph 1 under “Measurement and Payment” has been revised to:
“The contract lump sum price paid for street sweeping includes full compensation for
furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals and for doing all the
work involved in street sweeping, including disposal of collected material, as
specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions, and as directed by
the Engineer.”

Modification to the contract documents under Section IV – Special Provisions,
10-1.07 Temporary Silt Fence (ref. Bid Schedule Item 5), p. 147:
Paragraph 2 under “Measurement and Payment” has been revised to:
“The contract price paid per linear foot for temporary silt fence includes full
compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals,
and for doing all the work involved in constructing the temporary silt fence, complete
in place, including removal of materials, cleanup and disposal of retained sediment
and debris, and backfilling and repairing holes, depressions and other ground
disturbance, as specified in the Standard Specifications and these special provisions,
and as directed by the Engineer.”

Paragraph 2 under “Measurement and Payment” has been revised to:
“The contract unit price paid for temporary drainage inlet protection includes full
compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals,
and for doing all the work involved in constructing the temporary drainage inlet
protection, complete in place, including removal of materials, cleanup and disposal of
retained sediment and debris, and backfilling and repairing holes, depressions and
other ground disturbance, as specified in the Standard Specifications and these special
provisions, and as directed by the Engineer.”
8.
Modification to the contract documents – Section IV – Special Provisions, 101.14 Construction Area Signs (ref. Bid Schedule Item 10), p. 169:
Add the following paragraph after paragraph 11 of 10-1.14, Construction Area Signs:
The Contractor shall erect two Construction Project Information signs provided by
the City at the locations along the path designated by the Engineer prior to any
construction activities within the Corte Madera multi-use path.
Paragraph 12 under 10-1.14, Construction Area Signs, has been revised to:
“Before any major physical construction work readily visible to traffic is started on
this contract, the Contractor shall erect 11 Construction Project Information signs
provided by the City at the locations designated by the Engineer.”
9.
Modification to the contract documents – Section IV – Special Provisions, 101.15 Maintaining Traffic, p. 169:
Add the following paragraphs after paragraph 2 of 10-1.15, Maintaining Traffic:
Attention is directed to 10-1.14, Construction Area Signs, regarding placing two
Construction Project Information signs along the path prior to performing any
construction activities within the Corte Madera multi-use path.
The Contractor shall not operate any heavy equipment on the Corte Madera multi-use
path.

Modification to the contract documents under Section IV – Special Provisions,
10-1.17 Existing Highway Facilities (ref. Bid Schedule Item 16), pp. 174-175:
Paragraph 2 under “Measurement and Payment” has been revised to:
“The contract price paid per square foot for clean bridge deck includes full
compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals,
and for doing all work involved in cleaning the bridge deck, including removing
asphalt concrete and contrast treatment complete in place, as shown on the plans, as

specified in the Standard Specifications and these special provisions, and as directed
by the Engineer.”
Delete Paragraph 3 under “Measurement and Payment”.
11.
Modification to the contract documents – Section IV – Special Provisions, 101.22 Concrete Structures (ref. Bid Schedule Item 22), p. 182:
Add paragraphs 3-4 under “General”:
“Concrete surfaces for the infill shear wall, column retrofit and bent cap retrofit shall
match the color, finish, and texture of the existing bent original concrete surfaces that
remain exposed after the concrete for the retrofit and infill work has been placed.”
“Concrete surfaces for the sidewalk and curb reconstruction shall match the color,
finish, and texture of the existing sidewalk original concrete surfaces that remain
exposed after the concrete for the sidewalk and curb reconstruction has been placed.”
12.
Modification to the contract documents under Section IV – Special Provisions,
10-1.26 Repair Spalled Surface Area, (ref. Bid Schedule Items 30, 31, 32), p. 216:
Paragraphs 1-4 under “Measurement and Payment” have been revised to:
“Repair spalled surface area of the types shown on the Bid Schedule will be measured
by the square foot and the quantity to be paid for will be the total exposed surface
area of concrete patch type constructed in place.”
“The contract price paid per square foot for repair spalled surface area type A shall
include full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and
incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in construction of concrete patches
for Repair Detail 1 and Repair Detail 2 shown on “Historic Concrete Repairs No. 1”
sheet of the plans, including removing concrete and parge, preparing concrete
surfaces, cleaning existing reinforcement, furnishing and placing anticorrosion
coating on existing reinforcement, furnishing and installing supplemental reinforcing
bars and patch reinforcement, furnishing and installing epoxy grouted anchors, and
patching concrete and parge, complete in place as shown on the plans, as specified in
the Standard Specifications and these special provisions, and as directed by the
Engineer.”
“The contract price paid per square foot for repair spalled surface area type B shall
include full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and
incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in constructing of concrete patches
for Repair Details 3 and 5 on “Historic Concrete Repairs No. 2” sheets of the plans,
including removing concrete and parge, preparing concrete surfaces, furnishing and
installing patch reinforcement, furnishing and installing epoxy grouted anchors, and
patching concrete and parge complete in place as shown on the plans, as specified in

Repair Details 4 and 5 on “Historic Concrete Repairs No. 2” sheets of the plans,
including removing parge, preparing concrete surfaces, furnishing and installing
patch reinforcement, furnishing and installing epoxy grouted anchors, and patching
parge complete in place as shown on the plans, as specified in the Standard
Specifications and these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer.”

Modification to the contract documents under Section V – Bidder’s Section, 504
Bid Schedule, pp. 240-242:
The Bid Schedule has been revised to include changes referenced in this addendum.
A revised Bid Schedule is attached, and shall be submitted with the bid in place of the
schedule previously provided in Section V of the contract documents.
