Heavier ceiling systems must be statically evaluated. • All load information for suspended parts is based upon vertical tensile loads. Please consult us for further static or dynamic values. • All information is only valid with the exclusive use of orginal parts from our delivery program. We assume no liabilty in the event of external products. • The installation distances listed are based upon tests conducted and were then calibrated with the valid DIN norms and additionally with the installation instructions of the ceiling lining manufacturer. • The instructions for the ceiling lining installation must be inspected by the planner or installer themselves on the basis of the current documents from the ceiling liner manufacturer. • This must also be heeded in the event of installation instructions provided by us in reference to the ceiling liner installation or in the event of additional parts for the construction not provided by us. • In the event of installation of structures as per test certificates, the system components described within and their construction information must absolutely be used and/or complied with. • In the event of the planning or installation of ceiling liners, pitched roof liners or suspended ceilings on new or renovated old wood components/wood beams, the following special instructions must be heeded: - Wooden components/wooden joists/wooden beams can sag, contort (partially shift) due to equal and unequal loads, e.g: • Snow weight (roof) • Wind suction or pressure stress • Furnishing • Traversal by the user/inhabitant • Heavy installations on the flooring - The movements named on the wooden structure could be statically and/or dynamic diverted and transferred to the secondary construction (ceiling liners, suspended ceilings) which could lead to the rubbing together of metal parts of the sub-construction and the deforming of the sub-construction in conjunction with the creation of sound. - The aspects named must be considered on the planning and execution side through appropriate measures in the selection of the suspended ceiling system and/or in the reinforcement, bracing and diagonal bracing of the primary construction. - Corresponding measures are, among others: • Diagonal bracing of the primary wood construction using appropriate measures (wood or metal strutting in conjunction with appropriate connecting materials • Reinforcing the primary wood construction with additional beams • Installation of suspended ceilings or liners only after the determination of stress inducing new heavy flooring installations • Solid attachments of suspension system directly to wooden beams during renovation; remaining old ceilings may need to be cut out selectively • The use of heavier planking, e.g. ≥ 2 x 12,5 mm Gk or plaster fiber planking • Planning and installation of wide span beam construction without connect to the primary wood construction • Formation of moving connection to bordering components to avoid jams - Liability for the functionality and interaction of primary and secondary constructions cannot be assumed • The creation of suspended ceiling constructions, even with use of our wide span beams, upon request, can only be conducted if all necessary information has been provided in writing. We recommend the use of the checklist (catalog p. 39, special brochure p. 31). The determination takes place using information provided to us through inspection reports and/or static calculations. Additionally necessary static calculations, determinations, inspections, reports and similar items will be invoice seperately after discussion and a written order placement. This regulation affects planning for walls or other special constructions as well. • The plans created by us must be inspected by the inquirer or employer under their own authority for completeness and accordance with the technical requirements. Suspended ceilings and liners, also in reference to the type of connection to the primary construction/to the bordering components not described in all documents presented must be discussed on the planning and execution side with the technical consultants from Protektor. 16 PROTEKTORWERK . Inspected as per DN 18168/T2 with CD-profiles with slanted C-profile ref. 5120. 2. Each hanger corresponds to the load bearing group of 0.40 kN on tension. 3. This means 60 % more carrying capacity and therefore 60 % more secure than hangers of the load bearing group 0.25 kN. 4. Each CD-hanger fits to CD-profiles with diagonal or round flange return. 5. The CD-hangers stand upright in the CD-profile but are easy to move. 6. All CD-suspensions can be comfortably preinstalled in the floors at the prescribed intervals before they are attached at the height of the ceiling suspension parts. 7. The new tension spring in CD-hanger ref. 6038 means that the suspension wire is simply clipped into the slots, from the sides, without any difficult threading. 8. All CD-hangers have side perforations for screw fixing to the CD-profile in fire rated systems if required. 9. Rigorous continuous factory testing ensures permanent product quality. 10. The guarantee of an overall construction from Protektorwerk inspected as per DIN 18168/T2, along with the CD-profiles and CDaccessories. Fixing of the CD-hanger ref. 6038 with special tension spring: – – – – Put the hanger into the profile at an angle of 45°, so that all three feet (1) are standing on the profile web. Turn the hanger until both slots (2) clip in under the flange returns. Pull up the hanger together with the profile and hold both spring slots (3) against the suspension wire. Press the suspension wire against the spring slots with the thumb of the right hand and simultaneously press the springs together using a small amount of force so that the suspension wire is led through the spring slots and clicks into place behind the locking plates. – See that the lower end of the suspension wire comes out at least two cm under the lower tension slot. The C-ceiling board rail ref. 5120 or 5116 will be pushed into the E-connection profile and then attached to the suspension bracket. Maximum suspension bracket distance from the wall, 1/3 suspension bracket distance, maximum beam profile distance from the wall 1/3 of the allowable plate profile span. Running diagonally to this, the C-ceiling main rail ref. 5120 or 5116 will pushed into the E-connection profile from below and connection with the suspended C-ceiling board rail with cross connector ref. 6101 or angle anchor ref. 6090. The axis interval of the first C-ceiling main rail from the wall is to be determined from the installation table depending on the type and thickness of the plate (e.g. 500 mm with 12.5 mm GK plate). Profile rails must be arranged in an offset manner using profile connector ref. 6078. In the event of C-ceiling board rails, an additional suspension bracket must used for profile rails. Angle anchors must be bent with pliers! There are three possibilities for suspension: 1. For low suspension height (up to appr. 500 mm) we recommend our CD-hanger Ref. 6038 with the respective suspension wires with eyes or hooks Ref. 6041–6056 in the according lengths. 2. For greater suspension heights, the pressure resistant Nonius suspension, consisting of adjusting strips in the corresponding lengths ref. 6020-6029 and the CD-nonius hanger ref. 6018 are to be used, adjusting strip and Nonius hanger are to be connected with two adjusting clamps ref. 6199. Non self-securing bolts and/or clamps are to be bent. By doing so, these can be adjusted millimeter by millimeter. 3. The low construction height of 25 mm corresponding to conventional timber batten fixing for cladding does not need any change of design for the utilisation of TPS-25 instead of timber battens. If necessary the spring clip can be adjusted by turning the timber screws up to 5 mm in the height. Two punched safety anchors are integrated into the TPS-spring clip which prevent bending of the spring latches and thus a loosening of the TPS-CDprofile in the event of too heavy a load due to ceiling lights or similar objects. Fixing : The division of the profiles takes place in installation intervals of 500 mm depending upon planking. The beam interval should not exceed 700 mm. In the event of greater beam intervals, the axis interval of the TPS-CD-profiles to the load must be correspondingly shortened. The U-connection profile ref. 5312 can be placed at the wall connection as an installation aid. TPS-CD-profile ref. 5104 will always be installed diagonal to the beams. To do so, the necessary number of TPS-spring clips ref. 6126 will be clipped into the profile and screwed into each wooden beam with the accompanying timber screws. Further technical information regarding impact sound absorption, fixing distances and material requirements can be obtained from our special brochure “TPS-25–Adjustable” which we will mail to you upon request. Many more test results with different floor constructions as dry floor pavement or screed floors are available.. Profile joints within the middle of the field are to be avoided, as is the arrangement of multiple profile joints next to each other. Profile cuts must be conducted cleanly in order to avoid jagged edges on the profile ends. If necessary, the profile ends may have to be pressed together. Following this, the fixing of the planking diagonal to the TPS-CD-profiles with the drywall screws corresponding to the planking thickness takes place. Contact between the drywall screws and the clips is to be avoided, as is contact to the upper edgesof the profiles. It is recommended that the ceiling area be continually tested for the creation of noise during the planking of the ceiling area and, if necessary, improved. The plank connections to the bordering components should be spackled thickly. Alternatively, the attachment and spackling of PVC-movement bead ref. 3750 above the corner on the ceiling and/or wall planking is recommended. Adjusting: After screwing of the TPS-spring clip bend the two vertically positioned brackets towards the screw heads by hammer stroke. Afterwards the screws can be drawn back, the TPS-spring clip follows the movement. The maximum adjustment distance for the included timber screws 4.2 x 35 mm is 5 mm. Larger unevenness require a pre-installation of a basic structure from boards or wooden slats. It is generally recommended that the TPS-clip be secured after adjustment again noise formation, e.g. by placing appropriate material. If the structure is traversable or boarding is placed on the upper side for other reasons (e.g. span boards, OSB planking, et cetera), the prevention of lateral torsional buckling (LTB) can also be created by screw connections of the upper planking with the supports. Fire rating tested with mineral fibre boards 15 mm Type AMF. Test reports of F 90 acc. DIN 4102 for grid size 62.5 x 62.5 and 125 x 62.5 of MPA Braunschweig are available. The test has been made on raw ceilings of construction type II and III acc. DIN 4102 with main and cross T-rails in dimension of 24 x 38 mm. Description and methods of suspension: The boards are suspended using main T-rails in fixed lengths of 3.60 or 3.75 m and cross T-rails in lengths according to the size of the boards. The main and cross rails are fitted into each other without any additional fixing materials. 2. Sliding strip for slotted strip ref. 6065 for suspension with slotted strips 20 x 1.5 mm ref. 6001. The sliding strip is affixed to the slotted strip with 2 flat head screws M 5 x 15 mm ref. 6204. An advantage of this visible lay-in system is that the ceiling boards can be removed at any required point. Care should be taken, however, that the ceiling boards are approx. 5 mm smaller than the grid size. The hangers and rail joints should be installed in a staggered arrangement. An additional hanger should be installed at the rail joints. E. g.: Grid size 625 x 625 mm = Board size 620 x 620 mm. The ceiling boards on the edges are to be cut in such a manner that board clip ref. 6153 can be inserted between the edge angle and the ceiling board. There are two possible methods of suspension: 1. Hanger with tension spring, ref. 6162, and suspension wire with eye, ref. 6041–6050 (125–1500 mm long). Tender Specification: ......... m2 suspended sub-ceiling as inlay installation with visible white stove-enamel profiles and the following boards: Brand ...................... surface ..................... format ......................... with metal subconstruction as per Protektorwerk Structure 1100. using hanger with tension spring ref. 6162, suspension wire with eye/hooks or sliding strip ref. 6065 with slotted strip ref. 6001 and 2 flat head screws M 5 x 15 mm ref. 6204. The T-rails are supported with these suspension whose intervals are determined from the board format. The rail joints as well as the hanger must offset and an additional hanger must be placed next to each joint for rigidity. Slotted recesses are located in the grid of the beams of the T-rails, through which the cross T-rails are inserted and will then click into place. The boards are loosely inserted after adjusting the grid construction so that they can be removed afterwards at any time. ............ m wall connection with wall angle ref. 5334 white stove-enamel to be delivered and installed. Brief description of concealed wall installation using the example of the sink bearing stud no. 56835 illustrated: Before installation work starts, the vertical adjustment on the bearing stud is carried out by moving and fixing the bases, whereby both bases can be adjusted independently. Then the bearing stud is set up according to the planned concealed wall design and fixed to the floor. The mounting brackets (A) required for concealed wall installation and pre-fitted in the factory can be turned continuously clockwise or anti-clockwise. Depth adjustment is by means of an Allen key (size 8) and can be carried out before and/or after the support fixtures have been fastened to the masonry. After the bearing stud has been installed, the post-and-beam structure is mounted around it. In order to achieve precise and straight edges, we recommend planning the post-and-beam structure approx. 50 mm higher, inserting a UW profile onto the CW studs from above and using an UW profile to connect the structure to the masonry as well. This makes panel mounting much easier later. The CW studs must be connected to the bearing stud using sheet metal screws.
