REMOTE DIMMER 420 VA,
ACTUATED VIA EXTERNAL PUSH-BUTTONS
W FUNCTION
Remote dimmer for controlling the light intensity of all standard type of illuminations, such as e.g. incandescent lamps, high-voltage and
low-voltage halogen lamps with electric or conventional transformers.
The control unit is operated via standard push-buttons by impulses from the 230 VAC operating voltage. Inputs for the following
functions are available:
• Memory On/Off/Dimming
• Memory On (direct start with memory setting)
• Central On (100% lighting intensity) and
• Central Off (0% lighting intensity)
For these resistive-inductive loads or resistive-capacitive loads the dimmer can work in a normal or reverse phase control mode. If the
operating mode has been set incorrectly, or in the event of a short-circuit, it will automatically disconnect the load. In addition, the
EHTD420VAis equipped with thermal overload protection, electronic short-circuit cut-out, overvoltage protection and a soft-start function.
The device is also provided with electronic half-wave balancing and idle monitoring. This ensures the prevention of magnetic bias when
conventional mains transformers are connected and of overvoltages when idling.

W TECHNICAL DATA – Continued
Conventional transformers for LV halogen lamps should be loaded least 20%. Too high an inductivity will result in the
dimmer´being switched off (idle detection). It is imperative tu use only trasformers ap¬proved by the manufacturer für phase angle
control (i. e. dimmer control at on).
a)
In the case of LV halogen lamps the transformer´s own power consumption has to be added to the lamp´s wattage when determining the total dissipated energy. With a matched transformer this may be assumed to be approx 10% of the lamp´s wattage.
b)
The dimming capacity is dependent upon the ambient temperature and applies to the specified range. Always allow for sufficient
ventilation in the distribution board. If serveral dimmers are mounted next to each other in the distribution board and also subject
to high loads, a ventilation space of approx 10 mm is recommended.
c)
d)
Observe the manufacturer´s specifications.
