Berocca® is suitable for regular consumption
The tailored multi-vitamin supplement by Bayer contains all essential nutrients to optimize
mental and physical performance
Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is key to perform above average, both mentally
and physically. However, since the modern world moves at a fast pace, many
achievement-driven individuals face a lot of challenges and stressful situations, which in
turn leads to a quicker depletion of essential nutrients. Supplementation with multi-vitamin
and mineral combinations, such as Berocca®, helps promote good health. Berocca® can
easily be added to the daily diet and fill most nutrient gaps to provide the energy that is
needed for sustained performance.
Vitamins and minerals are necessary to improve growth and development of living cells
and are important components in cell metabolism. Humans are not able to synthesize all
vitamins necessary for the body. Instead, these compounds need to be regularly taken in
through food. Studies show that the body does not distinguish between synthetic and
natural vitamins1 as many synthetic versions of vitamins are chemically identical to their
natural counterparts. There is, however, a difference between fat-soluble and watersoluble vitamins. Fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamin A, can easily accumulate in the
body and therefore cause adverse effects at high concentrations. Because water-soluble
vitamins are generally not stored in the body and display a favorable safety profile, an
upper intake level for this group often does not exist.

As a neurotropic vitamin combination, Berocca® Performance only contains the watersoluble vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin/nicotinamide), B5 (pantothenic
acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin), B9 (folic acid), B12 (cobalamine) and vitamin C. In
addition, Berroca® Performance contains calcium, magnesium, and zinc. All these
vitamins and minerals are essential for both body and mind. During stressful periods, mild
deficiencies in these vitamins and minerals are enough to cause exacerbation of deficiency
symptoms such as irritability, fatigue, and diminished concentration.
In Berocca® Performance, all micronutrients are high-dosed to counteract subclinical
deficiencies. Nevertheless, the dosages conform to European food standards and are well
in line with Tolerable Upper Intake Levels (UL), as established by the European Food
Safety Authority. ULs describe how much micronutrient an individual can take long-term
without suffering any adverse health effects. For water-soluble vitamins, often there is no
UL defined and therefore marked as “not determinable” (ND) due to lack of data of
adverse effects. This is because vitamins from this group are readily excreted via urine
and thus rarely accumulate within the body to cause any such adverse effects.

Berocca® Performance is one of the most well-studied multi-vitamin supplementations,
therefore its efficacy and safety are backed by many randomized controlled clinical trials.3
They underline Berocca® Performance’s high safety profile, even with regard to a regular
daily consumption over long periods. Even though Berocca ® Performance contains high
doses of multi-vitamins, it is not recommended as a substitute for proper sleep habits, diet
or nutrition.
