The new sensor for detection of welding nuts made by TURCK is an economic and process safe alternative for sheet metal processing.
The sensor works on the basis of attenuation and thus detects ferromagnetic parts like sleeves, nuts and slices etc. The sensor is mounted in a chrome-plated brass housing and features degree of protection IP67. LEDs reliably indicate the current switching state
(presence/absence of target objects and errors).
As the detection of welding nuts takes place in an extremely rough production environment, the centering pin and the sensor have to be protected against mechanical strains. This is done with stainless steel sleeves which are plugged on the sensor and thus keep the nut in position. The new magnetic inductive sensors detect ferromagnetic material through non-ferromagnetic stainless steel sleeves.
In combination with the stainless steel sleeve the new sensor functions a location bolt.
To assure that the TURCK sensor only detects the nut and not the metal sheet, the sensor is taught either via pin 2 of the M12 x 1 connector or with an additional teach adapter (VB2-SP1). At the push of a button the sensor “learns“ to differentiate between the metal sheet and the metal sheet plus welding nut.
Once the sensor is taught, the “learned“ parameters are memorized until the sensor is taught again. Extreme fluctuations of temperature which occur during the welding process are compensated.
TURCK introduces a new BL67 Ethernet gateway available for use on PROFINET network systems. PROFINET is the fastest industrial Ethernet I/O network and the only one that can successfully accomplish a line topology, making it available for long conveyor systems.
TURCK’s BL67 system consists of a gateway, base modules and electronic modules, and is IP 67 rated for field installations. I/O modules are configured independently of the fieldbus protocol, and up to 32 I/O modules may be connected to a gateway. This equates to systems that may include up to 512 digital I/O points or 128 analog channels. TURCK’s BL67 gateways are currently available for
DeviceNet™, PROFIBUS ®-DP, CANopen, Ethernet/IP™ and Modbus TCP/IP.
All BL67 systems use TURCK’s free I/O assistant software package to perform the initial configuration, parameter set-up, documentation, commissioning and diagnostic functions for on/offline usage. It is recommended to use the
I/Oassistant program to verify that all restrictions regarding power and size are met.
I/O assistant can be downloaded for free at www.turck-usa.com

TURCK introduces new Sendix encoders with 12-bit analog and 14-bit CANopen outputs designed for users who need rugged, high resolution encoders. Die-cast housings, resistance to humidity and condensation and an IP69k protection rating make these encoders exceptionally suitable for outdoor use.
These Kübler by TURCK absolute, single-turn, magnetic encoders use patented Sensor-
Protect™ technology where the electronics are fully encapsulated and the mechanical assembly is separated, providing a high resistance to shock (>500g) and vibration (>30g).
The encoders are assembled using proprietary Safety-Lockplus™ technology. This technology utilizes interlocking bearings on the flange and a mechanically protected shaft seal to protect the encoder from external debris during installation. These unique features, combined with an operating range of -40 to 85 C and the non-contact nature of the device, help ensure there is no wear on the encoders. The encoders come equipped with an LED to help ease installation and simplify diagnostics, as well as an integral cable or M12 connector. Since the encoders’ diameter is only 36 mm, it may also be applied in space restrictive locations.
Sendix encoders for CANopen networks may be programmed via the bus for node address, baud rate and termination for fast, error-free start-up. This also allows users to obtain position or speed data in real time. Other parameters, like scale factors, preset values and limit switch values may also be programmed via the bus.

SureCross Data Radio models are one-watt serial radios designed to connect a Modbus Master to one or more DX80 Gateways acting as Modbus slaves via
RS-232 or RS-485. Data Radio modules are hardwired at the Modbus Master, and to each DX80 Gateway TDMA cluster, which are controlled by Modbus slave IDs. Each DX80 TDMA cluster is inherently collision-free and all deterministic properties of the DX80 wireless star networks are preserved.
Data radios are wireless industrial communication devices used to extend the range of a Modbus or other serial communication network. Banner’s data radios can be used as a serial cordset replacement. They will provide a physical interface for any protocol running on RS-232 or RS-485, including Modbus, DF-1 or any other serial protocol.
• Selectable power levels up to 1 watt transmit power; licensed for 4 watt EIRP in
the U.S. and Canada for 900 MHz
• Fully symmetric, bidirectional transceivers enable two-way communications and
receive acknowledgements
• Transparent operation adds little latency to serial data; connects seamlessly to
Modbus serial networks as a wire replacement
• Built-in site survey mode enables rapid assessment of a location’s RF transmission
properties by one person; hands-free operation and rapid display updates enable
efficient antenna placement optimization
• FHSS radios operate and synchronize automatically; no user setup is required
• Selectable network IDs reduce interference from collocated networks
• Basic configurable parameters (baud rate, power level) are switch selectable; an
AT command set allows control of all user- selectable functions through the
serial interface

• Includes OCR, OCV and string match tools in one premium vision tool package
• Delivers easy training process for building character library
• OCR finds character pattern matches from library of taught characters
• OCV confirms presence of desired character in a specific location
• Compares text with uploaded strings from Industrial Ethernet protocol sources
• Transmits decoded ASCII text strings using RS-232, TCP/IP Ethernet and Ethernet/IP or Modbus TCP/IP industrial Ethernet protocols
• Offers a field upgrade for existing users or preinstalled sensors
Applications:
• Human-readable text to bar code data matching
• Date-code/lot/-code comparison and verification
• Sequential serial code verification
• VIN Code reading
**To add OCR/OCV to a new camera, add “-OC” to the end of the model number and $1000 to the list price. To add the Bar Code Reader & OCR/OCV, add “-BCOC” and $1500 to the list price.
The QT50R Series was developed to detect objects in a defined area, including stationary objects. It is now available (upon special order) with Analog Output capabilities.
The R-Gage has a 3 meter deadzone in front of the sensor and can sense out to 15 meters.
To order the QT50RAF with analog, we will need to know the range you will be using so we can set the analog span at the factory. We will also need to know if you want current (mA) or Voltage.

Exlar is extending the capabilities of its high torque, long life Exlar GSX and I Series of electromechanical linear actuators with the introduction of an integral force measuring option. Force measuring is achieved by means of a load cell embedded within the actuator. This option offers a direct method for obtaining electronic data relating to the force being applied by the actuator. The strain gauge load sensor is mounted inside the actuator’s case in a compact and protected robust design.
The integrated load cell option is available on Exlar’s GSX30, 40, 50 and 60 models, and the I Series 30 and 40 model actuators. The load cell is a strain gauge type, offering stable and accurate load sensing (+/- 1% linearity, +/- 0.5% repeatability and hysteresis) in compression and optionally tension, and for static or dynamic loads.
The force measuring option is provided with a separate connector for interfacing the internal load sensor to an external strain gauge conditioner/amplifier required to excite the strain gauge sensor.
In addition, Exlar offers strain gauge conditioners to provide a high level signal, either 0 - 10V or 4- 20mA output, for monitoring of the output signal, which are compatible with most standard PLC analog input cards and signal

Linear Actuator conversion modules. Alternatively, any one of numerous PLC strain gauge input cards or separate strain gauge conditioners/amplifiers on the market can be used.
The GSX and I Series actuators in which the force measuring option is available both employ Exlar’s planetary roller screw technology. For the last 18-years, this has been the integral component in creating the most reliable, long lasting electro-mechanical actuators on the market, providing a long-life, all-electric replacement for hydraulic cylinders in thousands of applications world-wide.
