Nevada Gaming Statistics: February Historical Comparison
Summary of 10-Year Revenue Trends
February saw increases in gaming revenue across Nevada, with much of the surge attributed to higher slot holds.
Statewide casino win grew by 8.05%, driven in large part by a 19.82% increase in slot hold. Slot handle fell 9.97%, so the increase in hold
covered for a statewide drop in slot play—and then some. Games were up 11.04%, partially because of hold, partially because they now
include poker, and partially because of more play.
Las Vegas Strip casinos saw a 7.32% increase in total win. Here, higher hold was partially but not totally responsible for the 6.94% growth in
slot win. Game revenues grew by 9.72%, with the big news being the stabilization of baccarat win. It was up 0.82% from the previous
February, which is a change from the volatility that has dominated the last two years.
Downtown Las Vegas posted a 16.09% increase in total gaming revenue, with slot win growing 21.31%. This bump, however, was mostly
due to higher slot hold (6.72% to 7.57%), as handle grew only 7.69% Game win, on the other hand, 9.21% despite a lower hold
percentage, as overall play increased 16.71%.
On the Boulder Strip, a 10.40% increase in total win was caused by the convergence of a 10.18% jump in slot win and an 18.98% jump in
game revenue. The slot increase was due to increasing handle and hold, as was the growth in game win.
Washoe County saw total casino win increase by 8.53%, with the 9.55% growth in slot win driven by higher hold and handle.
Game win rose 9.55% despite a 4% drop in hold percentage, due to higher levels of play.
