JENSEN INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT Job Description Title: Associate, Operations and Information Systems Role: Desktop Support Technician and Operations Associate Salary Range: $53,500 to $72,500 Description Associate, Operations and Information Systems is a dual-role position. Duties include general desktop support and activities associated with Jensen’s trading environment. The Desktop Support Technician’s role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. The Operations Associate role requires engagement in day to day trading activities under the direction of Manager, Trading. This role entails an understanding of, or ability to learn all phases of trading at Jensen, including equities, fixed income, allocations, modeling, restrictions management, settlements, and hedging. Responsibilities Trading Work directly with Manager, Trading to execute trade orders using Advent Moxy and Jensen systems to: • • • Prepare daily morning cash and holdings reports for the investment team. Monitor cash positions, position tolerances, and restrictions in client accounts, and alert portfolio manager of need to trade. Assist in mid quarter and quarter end rebalancing. • Assist in sending trade notifications to custodians, and dealing with custodians / brokers on settlement issues. Systems Strategy & Planning • • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware, software, and operating system needs. Periodically assist in development of Jensen base PC image for deployment across the enterprise. Systems Management • • • • • • • Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed. Collaborate with consulting systems engineers and network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the company’s desktop computing environment. Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding desktop problems. Ensure that physical desktop connections are in proper working order. Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and monitoring desktop operations. Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, network cards, and other components and equipment. If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification • College diploma or university degree and at least two years of work experience within the investment advisory or asset management industries. Knowledge & Experience • • • Thorough technical knowledge of PC hardware, software and current operating systems, including Windows 7 and Office 2010 Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience. Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories. • • • • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, where employees tend to participate in numerous different roles. Knowledge of Advent Moxy and Advent Axys.
