I.
Introduction
Intended Use:
This product is designed for use with DELBio Blood Glucose Monitoring System to help
users transmit data from meter to their computer at home.
The DiaLife Mini system includes USB Cable and DiaLife Mini application. The USB
cable needs cable driver to install your personal computer to connect the computer side
and meter side, and the DiaLife Mini can help people to download the data stored in
glucose meter to export file to computer hard disk.

Warning: The installation manual includes USB cable driver and DiaLife Mini
installation; please follow the process of this manual.
Warning: Please download the following two drivers software in your PC from
DELBio website: http://www.delbio.com.tw/download/
DiaLife Mini setup file includes:
* DiaLife Mini application installer
* Cable Driver installer
Warning: Do not test blood glucose when the glucose meter links to PC.
Warning: Please install cable driver and DiaLife Mini before connecting cable

Warning: The DiaLife Mini shall only be as a personal use.
Warning: Do not modify the exported data, the test records should only be used
as a reference.
DiaLife mini Main Features:
 Download test records from blood glucose meter via cable.
 Export download data to CSV format file and save to PC disk.

DiaLife Mini Overview:
The system includes A) Blood glucose meter, B) USB cable and C) DiaLife Mini setup
tool.
A. Blood glucose meter
B. USB cable (DE03)
C. DiaLife Mini
A. Blood glucose meter :
Please refer to the meter user manual.
It supports meter models includes DA01, DA170 (DA210), DA160, DA161, DA140,
DA051, and DA125.
B. USB cable:
The cable (DE03) is designed for DELBio blood glucose meters and can’t use to
another brand.
The type is 3.5 mm ear jack to USB cable
C. DiaLife Mini system:
The system is designed for downloading measurement data from blood glucose
meter.
When you start the DiaLife Mini, the main program window will show as below.

II. Software installation
Operation System:
Desk-top or notebook computer installed with Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows2000,
and WindowsXP or Windows7 operating systems.
Hardware requirements:
PC or NB with Intel (or Compatible) Pentium II 300 MHz processor or higher
32 Megabytes greater of available RAM
32 MB of free hard disk space minimum
800 x 600 or higher resolution monitor
Blood glucose USB to Stereo 2.5 mm Cable (BG cable)
Blood glucose meter
There are two steps to setup the system:
A. Install cable driver.
B. Install DiaLife Mini.
Manual install cable driver:
If you want to just install cable driver, follow this part of instruction.
When you download the DiaLife Mini setup file (.zip), decompress the file (unzip) first.
The folder will include folder called drivers and DiaLifeMini_setup.exe.
If you want to install the driver manually, go into the folder <drivers>.
Otherwise just use DiaLifeMini setup program to install both cable driver and
DiaLifeMini automatically. Please refer to “Install cable driver and DiaLife Mini by setup
program”.
And the folder includes CP210x_VP_Windows folder and CP210x_VCP_Win2K.exe
file.

There are two cable drivers to support Microsoft Windows Operation System.
Driver a. CP210x_VCP_Windows (6.6.1)
Driver b. CP210x_VCP_Win2K.exe (6.3a)
The Driver a can support the windows OS (Windows XP, Vista, Win7 and Win8) except
Win2K.
Select the driver depends on the destination Windows OS.
If you use driver a, the folder includes two version for x64 is 64 bit OS and x86 is for
general 32 bit OS version.
Install cable driver and DiaLife Mini by setup program:
A. Install DiaLife Mini Setup and it will check the driver version in your system if not
found 6.5 for WindowsXP, Vista or Win7; or 6.3a for Windows 2000. The setup process
will ask if you want to install the driver.

If you click <Yes> to install the newest driver, the driver install process will show. Or the
old driver found, It will show as below.

Click the <Next> button.
Click <I accept the terms of the license agreement>.

Click <Next> to use the default folder.
Click <Install> to start install drivers.

After installation, click <finish>.

Install bridge driver. Just click <Install> button.
After show the window as below, the install is finished.

B. Install blood glucose management software:
1. Click ‘DiaLifeMini_setup.exe’to install DiaLife Mini.
2. Start to install process and follow the instructions.
3. Read the license and click <I accept the agreement> then click next button.

4. Select the destination location or just click next button.
5. Select menu folder. Just click next button.

6. Select if create shortcut on desktop and just click the checkbox.
7. Click install button to start installation process.

8. Installing and copy files.
9. Install completely.
After installing DiaLife Mini, the application will be found the application in menu.

III. Start to use
Before you use <DiaLife Mini>, please confirm the cable is plug-in meter and USB side
well.
After plug-in cable, the meter will turn on and show “PC”.
Warning: The cable one side is ear jack and has four pins. The cable should be
plug-in the meter connector as deep as possible and should not appear metal part after
plug-in the meter connector. Otherwise the cable connector may short to in-correct pins,
then transmission will fail.
Warning: The cable can only be used with meter. Don’t use with other device.

1. Click the application of shortcut on desktop
or in the program of menu.
2. Then the main windows will show in the middle of window.
3. Then software will try to connect meter and start to download data.

4. The software will find the total number and start to transfer data one by one. This
may take several minutes depending on how many of your measurement data
stored in your meter.
The process information will show as Index [Current index] / [Total number].
And the software will start to export download data to csv file.

And ask user where to save the file.
After saving the file, the file will automatically be opened by software if the system has
installed Microsoft Office 2000 or later version. If you do not install Microsoft Office
Excel, just use other text view such as notepad to open it.
The content file will display the five columns: DATE, TIME, VALUE (mg/dL) ,VALUE
(mmol/L)and MEMO.
And the MEMO column will has “AC” or “PC” based on meter setting the flag before
measurement.
AC means “Before the meal”.
PC means “After the meal”.

5. After exporting CSV file, the software will show “download finish”.
Note: The data stored in meter won’t be cleared after download process.
Or
If meter have no data stored in memory, the message will show no “test results”.

IV. Trouble Shooting
The system has been designed to work accurately under normal conditions. On rare
occasions, the meter will display an error as below.
When you are presented with an error, check for common problems within this chapter.
