Skills Canada Competition
Local Student Competes in Skills Canada Alberta
Shayna Reid, a grade 10 student at Tofield
School, was one of 24 competitors in the Skills
Canada Alberta Baking competition. These
young and ambitious students were in a two-day
competition to create a wide variety of baking
products; some of which included a "Challah
Bread," cream puffs and a decorated occasion
cake. Congratulations to Shayna for placing
16th out of 24 students. An amazing accomplishment as a first year competitor. We know
that Miss Reid will do even better next year as
she continues to pursue her passion for baking.

Students Choo-Choo-Choose to be Safe

from Constable Solowan with the CN Police. The constable informed us of the dangers and precautions to take around rail yards, trains and tracks. Each student was encouraged to go home and
share one piece of information that they learned, with a family member.

This year’s musical is The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux is a hysterical musical set in a wacky hospital.
With an abundance of zany patients, wild tunes and a hilarious plot, this musical will keep you in
stitches all night!
Lotta Cash, a wealthy widow, must be on the lookout. The evil Dogsbreath Devereaux, M.D. plans to
marry Lotta so he can inherit her fortune and her late husband’s clinic. Helping him is the nasty nurse,
Hilda Hatchet, whom he promises to wed after he gets rid of Lotta. Wild? Well, talk about medical
mania when the insanely jealous Hilda catches Dogsbreath flirting with our heroine, Wendy March.
We can only hope that Dr. Phil Good, our hero, can save Wendy and the unsuspecting Lotta from certain death. As they say, Nurses! Foiled again!
The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux will be performed
June 4 & 5, 2015 at the Tofield School Alliance Church
Tickets are $8 in advance OR $10 at the door.
