Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, a leading UK conservatoire, is seeking to recruit distinguished musical theatre teachers to join the staff of the Faculty of Music based at its prestigious World Heritage site in the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. Trinity Laban is a small specialist higher education institution formed by the merger of Trinity College of Music and
Laban, the leading European centre for contemporary dance.
Candidates will be nationally recognised and highly respected industry specialists, usually with a distinguished record in teaching and/or delivering masterclasses within the conservatoire sector or higher education sector more widely. Equipped to teach students on all the undergraduate
BA(hons) Musical Theatre Perfromance programme, you will be able to teach to an exceptional level of technical competency, and to sustain students’ emotional and professional needs over an extended period.

Responsibility for: Teaching Musical Theatre students
All teachers are expected to support the Trinity Laban mission and vision, including its profile as a centre of excellence for learning and teaching in music, dance and musical theatre; its commitment to enabling the development of high-calibre, versatile creative artists for a range of professional contexts; its cultivation of a culture of experimentation, innovation, enquiry and lifelong learning; its promotion of cross-arts and collaborative working practices; its correspondence to and engagement with the industry; its commitment to equality of opportunity and widening participation.
To direct, support and enable students’ learning, training and development in fulfilment of the stated programme learning outcomes, in accordance with Trinity Laban policies, regulations and codes of practice, and to support the Course / Module leader in pursuance of this shared objective.
1. Teaching, Learning and Assessment
1.1. To plan, prepare and deliver high quality teaching and learning that fulfils the aims and objectives set out in the relevant Programme Handbooks, responds effectively to a variety of learner backgrounds, abilities, learning styles and group sizes, and takes full account of, and enables students to meet as relevant, the differing expectations and demands of Higher Education levels.
1.2. To exemplify good practice in teaching, learning and assessment.
1.3. To provide students with ongoing constructive feedback on their work and progress.
1.4. To ensure that own subject knowledge (practice-based and pedagogic), professional skills and experience are up-to-date in order to meet the changing needs of the students, the industry, module aims, outcomes and content.
1.5. To deliver the module content, aims and objectives in accordance with the Module
Description, to the prescribed timetable, and to ensure students understand the module aims and objectives, content and assessment requirements.
1.6. To ensure module assessments are undertaken correctly, as described in the module descriptor, and as detailed in the relevant programme handbooks and TL regulations, and to co-operate fully with the requirements of any board of examiners, assessment panel, or similar.
1.7. To supply student marks and reports to the Programme / Module Leader and the
Registry, as and when required.
1.8. To serve as a member of formal examination and assessment panels, as required by the Programme / Module Leader.
1.9. To keep detailed and up-to-date records on student progress and attendance.
2. Student Development and Support: Helping students achieve well
2.1. To treat all students fairly, honestly, respectfully, with due consideration of the principles of equality of opportunity.
2.2. To empower each student to take personal control of his/her own development and promote the development of autonomous leaning, by providing opportunities for the exercise of choice, decision making, and responsibility within a supportive environment.
2.3. To advise the Progarmme /Module Leader of any student whose work, attendance or behaviour gives cause for concern.
2.4. To contribute to entrance auditions and interviews, as needed.
3. Quality assurance and enhancement: Improving our provision
3.1. To collaborate, teach and work with the programme delivery team to ensure a high quality holistic learning experience for students.
3.2. To assist the Programme / Module Leader in module review, revision, or design.
3.3. To advise the Programme /Module Leader of any modifications needed to human and physical resources used in the delivery of the module to ensure continued quality.
3.4. To contribute to the writing, review and revision of course and publicity materials.
3.5. To provide information for efficient timetable planning, as required.
4. Other: Being part of Trinity Laban
4.1. To attend any meetings or conferences related to the duties described above, as agreed with the Course Leader, and contribute to the TL community generally.
4.2. To undertake staff development activities as agreed with the Programme Leader.
4.3. To be professionally active in areas relevant to Trinity Laban courses, which will normally include research and practice, and to bring such research into the public domain by way of performance/composition, recording or publication.
4.4. To ensure that personal leave and/or external professional activities are taken at times which do not conflict with the efficient discharge of the above duties.
4.5. To comply with all Trinity Laban rules and regulations.
4.6. To undertake such other duties as the Programme Leader may reasonably require.

A good quality honours degree and/or equivalent professional level of experience in dance, acting or voice (as appropriate to the post applied for).
Masters or higher qualification in a relevant subject
