Vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s Classic Mystique PUR
and Expona Design PUR ranges was recently used
to create a fresh, modern office environment for
international technology company Analog Devices in
Co. Limerick, Republic of Ireland.
Polyflor flooring supplied by Provincial Floorcoverings
Ltd was installed at the Analog Devices’ regional
headquarters by flooring contractor Southern Mosaics
of Ennis, Co. Clare as part of a multi-million Euro
project.
500m2 of Classic Mystique PUR sheet vinyl flooring in
two complementary grey shades, Silver Mist 1430 and
Nocturne 1380, was installed within the office canteen
to provide a neutral base for the bright furniture
and food serving stations. Available in 16 colours,
this hardwearing, non-directional, homogeneous
floorcovering was used throughout the canteen’s
seating and serving areas, the two colours creating
different zones and pathways. 500m2 of Harmony fx
sheet vinyl flooring was also installed in the stairwells.
300m2 of Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles was
also used for tea and coffee stations around the
office. The linear, silver toned Light Contour 7214
design was chosen to complement the surrounding
grey carpet tiles.
Both the Classic Mystique and Expona Design ranges
are enhanced with PUR, Polyflor’s exclusive and
robust polyurethane reinforcement which is cross
linked and UV cured to provide superior cleaning
benefits in these areas where food and drink spillages
may occur.

PALS Building
Cape Town, South Africa

Polyflor’s Standard XL vinyl tiles were used to help
create this bold and dramatic flooring design at the
PALS Building in the artistic and trendy Salt River
suburb of Cape Town, South Africa.
This eye-catching, 3 dimensional effect floor concept
was designed by Karpinski Interiors in partnership
with One Point Zero Interiors for a client in the
marketing and advertising industry. The 300m²of
Standard XL tiles in Dove White, Black Panther and
Slate Grey from Polyflor South Africa were installed
in a continuous, chequered pattern by flooring
contractors Top Carpets and Floors Little Falls.
Ensuring that the installers copied the pattern exactly
was no easy task. Tom Karpinski from Karpinski
Interiors commented,
“We ended up having to do an initial mock-up of
the floor so that the installers could get their head
around the geometrical pattern and order in which
we wanted the tiles to be laid to achieve the desired
effect. They even joked of feeling that the patterns
made them feel slightly lightheaded and giddy, which
was exactly the impact we wanted the floor to make.”

feel of the floor. The designers managed to take
a standard hard wearing tile that was not very
expensive or exciting, and use it in a creative way
that got everybody talking. This project is once again

Polyflor’s Camaro luxury vinyl tiles were installed
in this state of the art, modern office interior for
technology firm Couchbase.
The Camaro range was specified and installed by
Ultimate Commercial Interiors Ltd who were the
design and build fit out contractors on the project.
They were tasked with providing a modern workspace
which would stimulate innovation, creativity and
energy.
Couchbase’s new office is situated in Sevendale
House, a Grade 2 listed building in Manchester’s
trendy Northern Quarter which has recently
undergone a £6 million refurbishment to create new
office space in the city centre.
The White Limed Oak shade from the Camaro
collection was chosen for the office breakout
area which features a kitchenette, seating and
“Manchester Album Cover Wall” artwork.
This design perfectly complemented the interior’s
grey, white and red colour scheme and created a
distinct separate zone for staff to spend their break
times.
With a 2.0mm gauge and 0.3mm wear layer, Polyflor’s
Camaro range of wood and stone effect luxury vinyl
tiles are suitable for light commercial applications
such as small offices like this one and in boutique
stores.

Polyflor’s Expona high design and high performance
luxury vinyl tiles were installed to create an eyecatching floor for the reception of a new CALA
Homes division in Welwyn Garden City.
Luxury vinyl tiles from the Expona Design collection
were specified by main contractors Gifford Grant
and expertly installed by flooring contractors
Merit Flooring to complete CALA Homes’ stylish
reception at their new office in the Falcon Gate
development. This subtle linear Dark Contour 7215
design was chosen as it fitted with the contemporary
and sophisticated brand image of the upmarket
homebuilders.
Expona Design has a 3mm gauge and 0.7mm wear
layer making it suitable for very heavy commercial
applications, such as areas like an office reception
where there is likely to be high levels of foot traffic.
Another robust commercial luxury vinyl tile product
from Polyflor, Expona Commercial in Light Grey
Matrix 5074, was selected for use in the staff kitchen
and dining area. The cross linked and UV cured PUR
polyurethane reinforcement used in Expona flooring
guarantees a simple cleaning and maintenance
regime.

Royal Mail Norwich
PRODUCTS USED:

Polyflor’s specially engineered static dissipative SD
tiles have been in installed at the Royal Mail sorting
office in Norwich.
Around 1200m2 of SD tiles were specified to
eliminate electrostatic discharge in an area filled with
electronic sorting equipment. The installation was
carried out by Moore Flooring in Bentley.
Dan Tovey, world class mail champion at Royal Mail
commented;
“We operate heavy-duty electronic sorting machinery
to provide an efficient service and the use of this
machinery can lead to a build up of static electricity.
The SD flooring dissipates the static charge safely
while providing a resilient surface that can handle
the foot traffic of staff and the mail trolleys used to
transport post and packages around the facility.”
