The purpose of this study is to minimise the risk of damage and increase the effectiveness of LKAB’s mining production system through monitoring of fatigue crack in mining mills and similar machineries. b) Co-applicant of SSF project on “Integrated maintenance for improved production and products (InMaint) 2009-2012, involving companies like; Sandvik, Boliden AB, Volvo amongst others in collaboration with Mälerdalen University (11 Million SEK). EU, foundation and other funding a) Project leader, Link and effect model for effectiveness improvement, Banverket, 2010 – 2012, 2.1 million SEK. The aim of the project is to develop key values and monitoring methods for RAMS and LCC in the railway maintenance infrastructure contracts, and develop a link and effect model to measure and monitor changes that affect the operation of the assets. b) WP leader, Interreg IVA research (2009-2011) on “Improvement of regional competitiveness through productivity development and research, for creating an eMaintenance cluster in the Bothnian Arc region for the process industries, suppliers and SMEs, as also to develop a platform for the future European framework” of 0.55 million Euro with KTUAS. c) Project leader, Measurement of hard and soft parameters for the production and maintenance process of the underground mine at LKAB Kiruna, May 2007-´Dec 2007, for LKAB (0.65 million SEK). To study the production and maintenance process, of the chute and track level, to suggest and subsequently to develop performance indicators (hard and soft parameters) for the underground mine of LKAB Kiruna, facilitating to achieve the target production of 30.6 million ton of iron ore by the end of 2009 d) Project leader, “study on implementation of e-Maintenance concept to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of production system for Swedish and Finnish process industry”, Mar –Oct 2007 (0.4 million SEK). The aim of this study was to examine the possibilities of implementing an e-Maintenance concept to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance function, so as to identify its potential, problems and challenges in its implementation and suggest a road map to implement this concept for the selected Swedish and Finnish process industries. e) Project leader, “Development of maintenance performance indicators for a pelletization plant at LKAB” April 2005-March 2006 for LKAB (0.7 million SEK). The aim of the project was to study the maintenance stops in the balling area of KK3 plant of LKAB to develop maintenance indicators linking to improvement in production rate (speed) and product yield (quality). f) Project leader, “Study, analyze and identify maintenance performance indicators (MPI) for Vattenfall Service AB” July –Oct 2006 (0.35 million SEK).
