Applications: An elegant yet simple design for
illuminating contemporary architectural spaces,
CARDAN LED provides a small, unobtrusive 6" square
aperture. The LED module mounted on speciallydesigned gimbal rings allows up to 30° of adjustability:
reflector barely protrudes below ceiling plane. Uses
an efficient white light LED module with special
reflector optics for smooth beam spreads.

1. Rough-In - 20 gauge black painted
steel housing. Rust-free steel aperture
throat with a fixed depth of 1". Ceiling
cutout: 7-1/8"x 7-1/8".
2. Trim - Cast metal frame with 1"
flange. Flange may be White or Titan.
3. Mounting Brackets - Rigid mounting
brackets provide +/- 2-1/2" vertical adjustment from inside aperture and plenum
side of housing. Can accept numerous
mounting options including C-channel
mounting bars.
4. Junction Box - Rigid 20 gauge steel
box, allows ample room for terminations
and heat sink. Supplied with 3 knockouts,
7/8" diameter. CSA listed for eight 12
gauge wires in and out. Ground wire
attached.
5. Gimbal Rings - May be tilted up to 30°.
See tilt angles diagram on page 1.
6. Ballast - Electronic 0-10V dimming
driver provided standard, with 10%
dimming, for either 120V or 277V. For
non-dimming installations simply cap off
control wires. DALI dimming options
also available, with 0.1% dimming.

7. Wattage & CCT - One high power
white light LED module available
in 31W (2300 lumens), 40W (2800
lumens), or 63W (4200 lumens). Color
options are 3000K and 4000K, both
available in either 80CRI or 90CRI.
90CRI not available with 63W.
NOTE: National or municipal codes must be
followed regarding set back of thermal insulating
material from fixture. Fixtures are not designed
for direct contact with thermal insulation.
8. Reflectors - Highly reflective
specular reflector made of aluminized,
iridescence-free polycarbonate. 12°
spot, 25° flood, and 38° wide flood
beam spread distribution options
available.
9. Standby Battery Pack - Integral.
7W delivering 588 lumens for
90 minutes. Not available with 63W.
