Overview GST301 Gas Release Control Panel is a stand-alone panel intended for use with gas extinguishing systems. The function of the panel is to monitor zones or areas for fire conditions and give an appropriate audible/visible indication. The panel also provides a facility for initiating the gas release to achieve automatic protection, both manually and automatically. GST301 Gas Release Control Panel has 2 detection zones to achieve double-knock function, and a normal detection zone for extra usage. Extinguished when fault removed. 3.1.2 Keys & Switches SILENCE Stop all sounder outputs and local alarm (panel buzzer will beep at 0.5sON & 9.5sOFF mode). Resume by new fire/fault signal or pressing Evacuate key. If gas release timer on running, local alarm will not be stopped, and sounder outputs will be resume at the last 15 seconds. RESET Clear all inputs, indications and outputs. LAMP TEST Check indicators. AUTO ENABLE Enable the automatic gas release function. If this function is not enabled, the gas release will not be started even fire detected by detectors. EVACUATE Start the two sounder outputs. Stop by reset. CONTROL ENABLE Manual control authorization. In disable mode, only LAMP TEST and STOP keys can be operated. OUTPUT SELECTION Switch gas release output between primary and standby. START Manual release control button. STOP Stop gas release timer (keep remain time on shown). Inhibit gas output. Stop Sounder2 output. ISOLATE (ISO1~4) Logically isolate corresponding terminal. Commission tips 5.1 Configure the outputs The sounder outputs and gas release output are default set at 24VDC Active type. To meet the condition on site, these outputs can be changed to Normally-Open or Normally-Close dry contact output. These output types can be configured through X1、X2、X3、F3、F4、F5 (on the main board ). X1 and F3 for sounder1. X2 and F4 for sounder2. X3 and F5 for gas release output. Please refer to the below forms to set X1、X2 or X3. Note, if configure the output type to Normally-open or Normally-close dry contact, the current fuse(F3、F4 or F5) must be removed. 5.2 Configure the Emergency Start Switch Press the emergency Start Switch on field can start the gas release with or without delay. Short X1 (on the display board) to set with delay and remove the jumper to set without delay. Default set is with delay. 5.3 Configure the discharge output The discharge output can be started by pressure switch or directly by gas release output. Short X2 (on the display board) to set using pressure switch, remove the jumper to set not using pressure switch (active after gas release output). Default set is using pressure switch. 5.4 Configure the remote output type The discharge、fire、fault remote output types can be changed to Normally-Open or Normally-Close dry contact type through setting X5、X4、X6. But it can be started by pressing the ‘START’ key on the panel, the action will be kept until the pressed key released. 7. Manual Operations 7.1.1 Start gas release from the panel Press the START button on the panel will start the gas release output without any delay. This operation is controlled under CONTROL ENABLE switch (by key). 7.1.2 Start gas release on field. Press the Emergency Start button on field will start the gas release output with or without delay (configurable). This function is not inhibited by AUTO ENABLE setting. 7.1.3 Stop gas release from panel During the gas release delay timer, press the STOP button will stop the timer. The output terminal will be electronically isolated. This function is not inhibited by AUTO ENABLE and CONTROL ENABLE setting. Note, if the timer is finished and the panel is starting the gas release action, the stop operation will not function. 7.1.4 Stop gas release on field During the gas release delay timer, press the emergency abort switch will stop the timer. The output terminal will be electronically isolated. This function is not inhibited by AUTO ENABLE and CONTROL ENABLE setting. Note, if the timer is finished and the panel is starting the gas release action, the stop operation will not function. 7.1.5 Silence the ringing bells & alarming panel Press the SILENCE key to stop sounder outputs and the buzzer in panel. This operation is controlled under CONTROL ENABLE switch. Note, if the EVACUATE key is active, the SILENCE key will not act. 7.1.6 Ring the bells Press EVACUATE key to start the sounder outputs. This operation is controlled under CONTROL ENABLE switch. After solve the problem, De-isolate to resume the functions. The Isolate/De-isolate operation is available for Zone1, Zone2, AUX Zone and the Gas Release Output. Press the corresponding ISO (ISO1-4) key to change the isolation condition. This operation is controlled under CONTROL ENABLE switch. 7.1.8 Switch Standby Cylinder Output To ensure the fire protection, the field should prepare 2 sets of gas cylinders. In case of faulty on the primary (discharge, low pressure or other problems), switch the output to standby terminal. Note, only the circuit on use is monitored. 8. CAUTION 1. If the cylinder’s output or the sounder’s output is set as a Normally-open or Normally-closed type, the corresponding current fuse must be removed! 2. ‘ISO4’ operation is only valid for gas release actions caused by Emergency Start button and detection zones. The START button on the panel is not under controlled. That means even the output is isolated, it can still be active by the start button. So, only when both ‘ISO4’ is active and ‘Control Enable’ is OFF, the gas release output is completely inhibited. 3. If there is any serious internal error during the self-test, the panel will show flashing ‘E0’ on the surface and start the fault remote output. In this case, maintenance must be done. 4. For safety reasons, the panel must be properly grounded. 5. The panel must be maintained or repaired by authorised skilled person.
