New 110 kV Incoming Supply System for Power
Import into the Albbruck Paper Mill (MD Papier)
STEAG Energy Services provided assistance for the new construction of the 110 kV incoming
supply system for power import into the paper mill at Albbruck and switchover to the new system.
The new installations were commissioned by MD Papier in order to improve power import
flexibility.

The Project
STEAG-Services
MD Papier operates a paper mill at Albbruck,
including three paper machines, grinding plant
and a hard-coal-fired power plant for steam
and electricity production. Previously, the
factory was supplied from the 20 kV grid.
The existing 20 kV power import facilities
restricted the options for import of electricity
from external suppliers. In order to enhance
flexibility for power import, a new highcapacity, redundant 110 kV switchgear was
designed and implemented.
STEAG provided technical and organizational
assistance to the Client throughout the 110 kV
switchyard project. This included the following
services:
Along with this measure, the meshed site
network was converted into a star-shaped
distribution structure and expanded.
