CLARIFICATIONS:
Questions and Answers from Mandatory Site Meeting of July 7, 2015:
1. Is Appendix D Bid Breakdown form submitted after tender submission?
Answer: No. Submit with Tender bid. Also, refer to page 14 of 25 of the “Invitation to Tender #15068” for explanation.
2. Is Appendix D Bid Breakdown part of the Main Bid?
Answer: Yes. Submit with Tender bid. Also, refer to page 14 of 25 of the “Invitation to Tender #15068” for explanation.
3. When will the new sanitary sewer along Highway 44 be installed by North Grenville Municipality?
Answer: Spring 2016 as noted on page 2 of 25 of the “Invitation to Tender #15-068”.
4. Since the piles of existing topsoil can be used for the project, has this topsoil been tested to meet the
topsoil specifications?
Answer: No. The topsoil will be tested and results will be provided.
5. Does the soccer field have its own base drainage?
Answer: No
6. Can a cadd file grading plan be released?
Answer: No
7. All requirements of backflow prevention testing are to be in strict accordance with the North Grenville
Municipality regulations and/or specifications. For backflow prevention information, contact the North

8. Are there Mechanical Controls Contractor Specified?
Answer: Yes, refer to Section 23 09 36, Item 11.1.
9. Is there a list of Pre-qualified Mechanical General Contractor’s?
Answer: Yes, refer to page 4 of 25 of the “Invitation to Tender #15-068” for this list.
10. Is the Plumbing contractor under the responsibility of the Pre-qualified Mechanical General
Contractor’s?
Answer: Yes. The Pre-Qualified Mechanical Contractors are aware of their roles and responsibilities
as part of the pre-qualification for this project including any sub-trades which they are allowed.
11. Is the Fire Protection Sprinkler Contractor under the responsibility of the Pre-qualified Mechanical
General Contractor’s?
Answer: The Division 21 contractors may submit their quotes for their scope of work directly to the
General Contractors to minimize the mark-ups of this quote, however, the overall coordination of the
Division 20 (including Divisions 20, 21, 22 and 23) works on site are still the responsibility of the
Division 20 contractor as set forth in Section 20 05 01.
12. Does the electrical contractor carry a $30,000 allowance as well as the General Contractor of $30,000, as
there seems to be duplication?
Answer: No. A $30,000 allowance for work by Hydro One is specified in section 01 21 00. This
allowance shall be carried by the General Contractor. The description of work covered by this
allowance and work related to the electrical service which is expressly not covered by this allowance is
described in section 26 05 00, item 1.11 Service Allowance.
13. Does the electrical transformer have a lead time for delivery?
Answer: Utility padmount transformer is supplied and installed by Hydro One. Transformer size may
vary depending on Utility preferences and utility layout design which has not yet been completed.
Refer to section 26 05 00, item 1.11.3.8. Transformer lead time is therefore unknown at this time.
Preliminary Hydro One estimate of transformer lead time is 8-10 weeks from completion of utility
layout design.
14. Has the Ministry approved the financing? And if so, what is the budget?
Answer: Yes, financing has been approved and no, budget information will not be made available

requested by the Owner. This includes, but it not limited to product name, size, finish, location of

1. With reference to specification section 09 65 19 Resilient Tile . . .. add paragraph 3.3.14. to read “Provide
a mock-up of the coloured pattern PRIOR to further colored tile installations for review.”
2. In section 09 30 13 Ceramic Tiling, 1.2.1.2: “CT2: Centura Miki porcelain tile unglazed series uni LT
50mm x 50mm, colour to later selection. Wall and floor tile for barrier-free shower. Refer to drawings.”
Olympia Tile’s Quebec Series 2x2 is an approved as an equivalent.
3. With reference to specification section 08 80 50 Glazing, under “VG2AE” add to sentence 2.2.6.2, to

Civil:
1. Revise stormwater pumping station forcemain and outlet on drawing C1.2 – Site Servicing Plan, as per
the attached detail CD1-1.
2. Revise the grading for the stormwater pumping station forcemain and outlet on drawing C1.3 – Site
Grading Plan, as per the attached detail CD1-2.
3. With reference to detail A/C1.7 on drawing C1.7 – Stormwater Pumping Station, the concrete collar shall
be “400mm X 400mm (35MPa) c/w 2-15M horizontal continuous with 15M L-dowels (500x210) at
500mm o.c installed at mid-depth of base slab/collar . Use HILTI HIT HY-200 adhesive with 175mm
embedment. Rotate dowels as required inside collar to achieve min. 50mm clear cover off end of dowel.”
