Is the Fire Protection Sprinkler Contractor under the responsibility of the Pre-qualified Mechanical General Contractor’s? Answer: The Division 21 contractors may submit their quotes for their scope of work directly to the General Contractors to minimize the mark-ups of this quote, however, the overall coordination of the Division 20 (including Divisions 20, 21, 22 and 23) works on site are still the responsibility of the Division 20 contractor as set forth in Section 20 05 01. 12. Does the electrical contractor carry a $30,000 allowance as well as the General Contractor of $30,000, as there seems to be duplication? Answer: No. A $30,000 allowance for work by Hydro One is specified in section 01 21 00. This allowance shall be carried by the General Contractor. The description of work covered by this allowance and work related to the electrical service which is expressly not covered by this allowance is described in section 26 05 00, item 1.11 Service Allowance. 13. Does the electrical transformer have a lead time for delivery? Answer: Utility padmount transformer is supplied and installed by Hydro One. Transformer size may vary depending on Utility preferences and utility layout design which has not yet been completed. Refer to section 26 05 00, item 1.11.3.8. Transformer lead time is therefore unknown at this time. Preliminary Hydro One estimate of transformer lead time is 8-10 weeks from completion of utility layout design. 14.
