The Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts develops skills that employers want, such as creative problem-solving, analytical thinking, self-discipline and team work. We offer a hands-on approach to learning. Practical subjects are taken with theoretical ones and are taught by staff with industry experience. Whether it is legal training in an internship or publishing using blogs and social media – we know what it takes to make it in the real world. We are offering scholarships to high-achieving international students who study one of the following courses at our Wollongong campus: • Bachelor of Arts • Bachelor of Communication & Media Studies • Bachelor of Creative Arts • Bachelor of Digital Media • Bachelor of International Studies • Bachelor of Journalism • Bachelor of Laws • Bachelor of Performance Faculty scholarships provide an additional 25% reduction of tuition fees to students who have been awarded a UOW Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship, bringing the total scholarship to 50% off the standard fee. ARE YOU ELIGIBLE? • Students who have been awarded a UOW Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship will be considered for Faculty Merit Scholarships. • Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee award of a scholarship. • The main selection criterion in determining scholarship recipients will be academic merit in previous studies. Other factors may, however, be taken into account, including any additional information provided with the scholarship application. CONDITIONS • Applicants must have received an offer of admission into one of the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Communication & Media Studies, Bachelor of Creative Arts, Bachelor of Digital Media, Bachelor of International Studies, Bachelor of Journalism, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Performance at the UOW Wollongong Campus. • Applicants who have been awarded a UOW Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship will automatically be considered for one of the Faculty Merit Scholarships. • Applicants will be advised if they have been awarded a scholarship within two (2) weeks of the date on their offer of admission to UOW, and will be given a maximum of two weeks to accept the offer. • Applicants who receive a conditional offer of admission may receive scholarship offers that will be conditional on meeting requirements contained in their UOW offer of admission letter. • Applicants must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75% or greater in each session of study in order to remain eligible to retain the Faculty Merit Scholarship. • The Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts reserves the right not to award a scholarship if there are no applicants of sufficient merit as determined in each case, or to amend the availability of scholarships and/or the eligibility criteria at any time. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS One of the following: • Australian Year 12 or equivalent international secondary school qualification with a minimum Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) of 92 or equivalent. OR • Applicants entering via a credit transfer agreement, with a minimum average of 85%: agreements can be found at: http://www.uow.edu.au/future/international/apply/ credit/index.html.
