Enhance with Texture
One of the most popular flooring trends today, texturing adds an extra sense of heritage and craftsmanship to
your floor. With a variety of texturing options available, consult your Carlisle Wide Plank Specialist for choices best
suited to your needs. Any of these treatments are an excellent way to add immediate age and authentic texture
to your floors. And while some might think that they are only appropriate for older homes and rustic cabins, today
you’ll find that our Custom Shop Handmade Surfaces have created compelling focal points in the most traditional
and modern environments.
Watermill
This process replicates the look of floors whose boards were
originally rough sawn at riverside watermills centuries ago.
Never planed or scraped smooth, saw marks remained
in the boards. Over the years the marks transformed into
undulations in the boards, as they were smoothed by foot
traffic. We leave the original saw marks on the timber, then
individually brush the planks to soften the texture, creating
an authentic reproduction of the old watermill boards.

A unique treatment developed by Carlisle, this is our
most subtle surface texture. Using specially designed
brushes, craftsmen de-gloss and“un-smooth” our
