The aJour® LT telematics system was particularly designed to be
retrofitted into locomotives. The aluminum housing contains the lowpower electronics, the GPS receiver and a GSM mobile communication
device. A railway certified GPS/GSM roof antenna offers excellent
communication performance. The telematics device is powered by
the loco energy supply via a voltage converter. A galvanic isolation
prevents electric interferences. When the locomotive power is turned
off, the aJour® LT automatically switches to its internal battery. Besides
position data, the device may acquire additional data like fuel tank level
and loco battery status, which offers additional benefits for the fleet
management.
