OD-ETDP Certificate Programme (5) This qualification is for those who want to build on a Further Education and Training Certificate from another field to enter the field of ODETD as a potential career, and have little or no previous exposure to ETD. The qualification will also be valuable for those who may have been practising within the field, but without formal recognition. This qualification will be useful for Assessors, Facilitators of learning programmes, Learner and learning supporters and Skills Development Facilitators. CREDITS NQF 6 DURATION 10 2 Target Audience Target Audience: Assessors, Facilitators of learning programmes, Skills Development Facilitators Programme level: The level of the programme is at NQF Level 5 Minimum Qualifying Criteria: Communication at NQF Level 4 & Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 3. Note: It is assumed that practitioners have expertise in the subject/occupation field in which they intend to provide education, training and development, at a level required to engage meaningfully in ETD within that field. It is also assumed that learners working towards this qualification hold a FETC or equivalent. Duration Qualification Duration: Twelve (12) months. Pre-Assessment: Pre-assessment of proposed learners is undertaken to identify current qualifications and experience, and may result in reduced contact training sessions. Contact Training Sessions: Six (6) contact training sessions of approx. four (4) days each = 28 days, for comprehensive training (inexperienced learners or those who do not qualify for RPL). RPL: Learners may qualify for RPL on specified unit standards – as per SAQA & SETA regulations. A workplace log must be completed in this regard. Qualification Alignment Qualification: 50334: National Certificate - Occupationally Directed Education Training & Development Practices (NQF5): ACCREDITATION IN PROCESS Training Methodology The programme is facilitated by competent subject matter specialist/s, who utilises the following techniques to ensure that the session is practical and experiential: Discussions; Role Plays; Exercises & Case Studies; Videos/DVDs; and Formative Assessment. To facilitate this process we offer: Coaching Support: The Primeserv appointed assessor and project co-ordinator are available to the learners for telephonic support and coaching while learners compile their POE’s. Additional coaching support will be scheduled, as required, to assist with the building of POE’s. Credits: Learners exiting this qualification before completion, retain the credits for Unit Standards successfully completed.
