SUMMARY: I am an applied anthropologist with more than 30 years of experience working in approximately 56
countries as a senior evaluator, leading, designing and conducting evaluations; improving organizational systems;
and focusing on gender in all aspects of project development and implementation. I am an experienced program
manager, skilled trainer using adult education and participatory methods, having effectively conducted dozens of
workshops. I have been awarded grants to develop programs or conduct research. My publications include four
books, numerous articles and monographs, research reports developed on the basis of consultancies, and training
“manuals” for independent study and workshop facilitation. I have provided assistance in the following areas to
more than ten USAID missions, numerous NGOs implementing development projects, and educational institutions:
