Hammering
The continuous hammering process (Griset Patent)
directly puts the metal strip in shape without any
material removal. It allows an efficient flow of the
strip.
Depending upon the required gauge profile,
specifically designed hammering tools can be easily
installed (in less than ten minutes) and replaced, thus
contributing to the entire process global productivity.
Right after hammering, the strip undergoes a
complete steam degreasing.
Milling
Double-face high-speed milling machines with
diamond grinding tools allow a combination of
various milled strip thicknesses.
Brushing / Cleaning
Annealing
In-line furnace ensures meeting again the
original hardness on the hammered part of
the strip before the rolling operation.
Gas furnace – Preheating prevents the strip
surface from oxidation thanks to the slight
pressurization in the combustion chamber.
Electric furnace – Electrical resistances
maintain the strip at a constant temperature
(with independent control) all over the
heated length.
Cooling unit – The strip is gradually cooled
down by means of indirect and direct water
sprays.
GRISET Your Partner With Innovative Solutions In Copper Alloy Strips
As hammering generates substantial
modification of the surface status by
leaving tool marks at regular intervals, the
strong mechanical action of the brushing
smoothens the hammered area.
Control and Checking
Flawless strip surface is ensured by means
of an optical device with camera. Multivideo
display command and control computer
enables permanent fine-tuning of settings
according to quality requirements and
production parameters. One single operator
supervises the entire process line.
Rolling
Cold rolling of the annealed strip reinforces
mechanical properties of the metal and
leads to an homothetic reduction of both
the thick and the hammered parts.
