BECOMING AN ATP THAN
SIMPLY TAKING A TEST.
The MED Group National Rehab Network and MED U are excited to announce our next round of training in preparation
for the RESNA ATP® exam. This guided training, with monthly accountability and follow-up, is under the guidance of
industry expert Dr. Gary Schwantz. Our comprehensive ATP® Journeyman Program is a series of six sessions
that will prepare students specifically for the RESNA exam, but more broadly to be outstanding ATPs in the field.
The training includes:
• 42.5 hours of written material and testing, including original MED U material
• A study guide of key elements in the Cook & Hussey text on Assistive Technologies and material from Michelle Lange,
the editor of Fundamentals in Assistive Technology, 4th Ed. and on the teaching faculty of RESNA
• Almost 20 hours of clinical training from our Business Partners
• Detailed prep for the RESNA exam review of test-taking skills
It is all on-line and always accessible.
Program Cost
The rates for the ATP® Journeyman program:
• $1095 per person for MED Rehab Network Members or CRC Members
• $1995 per person for MED Members (Non Rehab Network Members or CRC Members)
Our New Approach to Guided Sessions
Students work better with accountability and coaching. In past guided sessions, an econference was held each month.
However, two challenges existed: scheduling issues for students and the challenge of trying to conduct real discussions
and Q&A sessions with multiple students on the phone. In the new approach, Dr. Schwantz will visit with each student
individually and review their progress by phone each month, and when needed, through econference. All material from
each session, including tests on written materials and our business partner videos, must be completed by the next review.
These visits (held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month) will keep students on track, allow for individual coaching, and
also open enrollment for students throughout the year. Most importantly, this individual approach will offer the best
chance for success.

ACCOUNTABILITY
This program requires dedication and commitment. We know you can do it and we have two ways to help you stay
accountable and to be successful in the program. The first is through the monthly e-conferences with Dr. Schwantz and by
signing the commitment statement below. And because it’s even more valuable to have someone who can help you stay
on track, our second accountability suggestion is to find someone who you can share with each month, to let them know
how you are doing. That’s the purpose of the AP (Accountability Partner). Perhaps it’s an existing ATP within your office,
an assistant or even a manager. You’re not required to do it, but it may be all worth the effort. Think about it.
