EFIR-ZX10-04
Model Year 2004-2005 ZX10 Ignition Advance-Retard Module
NOTE-The EFIR-ZX10-04 will NOT work with previous Model years.
1—Description, The EFIR-ZX10-04 Advance-Retard Module allows the user to Advance the Ignition
Timing for improved High RPM Power and Retard the Timing for Nitrous Applications. When the Timing
Advance feature is enabled (Setting other than 0) the timing will advance between 5,000 and 6,000 RPM. By
controlling when the Timing Advance is applied there is no Loss of power in the lower RPM range and no
detonation occurs as with a standard manual adjustment advancer.
NOTE-The timing retard is disabled below 6,500 RPM even if the Activation Signal is applied.
2—Installation,
The EFIR-ZX10-04 Module is designed to plug into the existing Crankshaft Trigger
wiring harness. The connector is located under the right side of the throttle body assembly. Find the Factory
Trigger connectors and unplug them(2 position connector, yellow, black wires). Plug the EFIR-ZX10-04
connectors into the Trigger and Factory Harness.

NOTE—The EFIR Module will not allow the Trigger Signal to pass if it is NOT on. To operate with
Module OFF (no power applied) you must re-connect the factory connectors without the EFIR Module.
Connect the Black wire to the Battery Negative Terminal.
Connect the Red wire to +12V switched source (comes on with the Ignition Switch).
Connect the Yellow wire(+12V Activation wire) to the NOS Activation Switch or a +12V
activation source (i.e.—Timer Output from PNC-101 Nitrous Controller)
NOTE—The Red LED Lamp will light when power is applied and will flash with each Crankshaft
Trigger signal that it receives. It is NORMAL for there to be One Red LED PULSE that is brighter
than the others during cranking. This indicates the presence of #1,4 TDC. The Green LED Lamp will
Flash if the Activation Signal is applied without the engine running. If the Activation Signal is applied
with the engine running the Green LED Lamp will be on steady.
NOTE—The PNC-101 and DCS-101 Nitrous Controllers were designed to work with the EFIR-ZX10-04
for precision Nitrous Power Control. Contact Schnitz Racing for product information and pricing.
