Students learned how the Port was established, the role it plays in international trade, and the many types of jobs the Port and its tenants create. Prior to their visit, all students are provided with Port of Grays Harbor based curriculum which addresses grade-level standards in the areas of math, reading and history. Upon arrival, the students are given a brief overview presentation and then board their buses for a tour of the Port’s industrial properties and marine terminals. Port tenants AGP and Paneltech provided giveaways for all of the students. Transportation for the tours was provided at no cost to the participating schools thanks to the Gladys Philips Cultural Tours Grant via the Grays Harbor Community Foundation.
