The Tread Sure Anti Slip system can also be applied to EPDM and TPO membranes subject to a site adhesion test being satisfactory. Tread Sure Anti Slip is pre-pigmented and is applied in one coat. Recommended Environmental Conditions Support temperature should be between 10ºC and 30ºC. Support moisture should be less than 4%. Relative humidity of air should be less than 85%. High moisture conditions can lead to bubble formation under the membrane surface. Preparation For use over the Bullet Roof Smooth or Reinforced waterproofing membranes as anti slip protection. Apply one coat of Metflex Anti Slip Roof Walkway following the relevant application guidelines. On old / other installations: Clean and prepare the surface to remove all grease and dirt, then roller apply the Tread Sure Anti Slip. Subject to site adhesion test being satisfactory. Trading as Towerflex, Company No. 6597177, VAT No. 932697785 Mixing Stir gently before use. Use low-speed stirring equipment to minimise air bubble and allow to stand for 5 minutes before using. Application Apply one coat by roller, brush or airless spraying equipment and whilst still wet, lightly hand broadcast the Aluminium Oxide Anti Slip Aggregate into the wet surface. Allow the coating to cure overnight before trafficking the surface. Although not strictly necessay, it is highly recommended use all the contents. If not, ensure total sealing of the remainder. Note: Some roller materials are damaged by the solvent. If in doubt, is recommended to test before use. Excess pressure, along with high temperature and humidity, may give rise to microbubbles that makes the surface to look hazy. Mix the Tread Sure Anti Slip by means of a low speed stirrer to re-distribute any settled out pigment and wait some minutes to allow bubbles to disappear. Apply, as a general rule, at 200-500 g/m2. Curing Time Curing time is dependent on the environmental conditions. Curing rate increases with temperature and humidity rises. The following table gives a rough estimation of the curing time under diverse conditions for a 500 microns coat. Conditions Touch dry 43ºC, 50% hr 25ºC, 50% hr (h) 2 14 Reapplication A second coat of Tread Sure Anti Slip can be applied, if desired, when the first one is no longer sticky. Do not wait more than 24 hours for the next coat application to ensure good intercoat adhesion. Return to Service At usual conditions (25ºC, 50% rh) the Tread Sure Anti Slip can be walked on after an overnight cure. Final hardness development may take up to 15 days in low temperature conditions. Tool Cleaning Liquid Tread Sure Anti Slip can be cleaned with solvent, acetone and alcohols. Once hardened, it cannot be dissolved. Cleaning and Maintenance It may be necessary to reapply Tread Sure Anti Slip if they are worn out due to traffic, weather, corrosion, etc. For stain removal, a surface treatment with solvent or isopropyl alcohol may be attempted. Strong acids are totally inadequate. Some solvents may damage the membrane. If this happens, the affected area has to be cleaned and repaired with a new Tread Sure Anti Slip application. Contact Towerflex for details. Safety Tread Sure Anti Slip contains isocyanates and flammable solvents.
