LED indication of float charge, bulk charge, short
circuit, reverse polarity, thermal shutdown.
Short Circuit Protection – Prevents damage
to the charger if the dc output is short circuited.
Visual indication is by alternate flashing red and
green indicators.
Reverse Polarity Protection – Prevents damage to the charger if the battery is connected in
reverse. Visual indication is by a continuous flashing red indicator.
High Temperature Protection – If the internal case temperature rises to an unusually high
level then the system will shut down. When the temperature has settled to a safe level the full
charge current will be available. The visual warning for high temperature is by simultaneous
flashing red and green indicators.
Soft Start – On power up the system will enter a “soft start” mode. This means that the charge
current will build up slowly. During this time the charger will scan intensely for possible faults i.e.
reverse battery, short circuit etc.
Constant Current Bulk Charge & 3 Stage Charging – Provides the fastest possible way
to recharge the battery without overcharging.
Constant Voltage Float – Compensates for self discharge to hold the battery at peak charge
ready for use. The battery can be left on charge until required, there will be no overcharging.
Proportional Timing – Varies the second (constant voltage) stage in proportion to the time
taken for the first stage (constant current). This allows optimal charging by eliminating the
compromise of fixing charge timers. When the charger enters float charge mode the battery is
100% fully charged.
