Direction-free light
The Delta louvre gives a direction-free light, which makes
the luminaires very suitable for working with computer
monitors or in flexible office environments with regular
movements. The general light level remains good even if
the desk is not placed directly below the luminaire. Other
obvious application areas are corridors or entrances where
many people are in movement. The eye does not need to
adapt to the movement as the bright surface is visible
the whole time. Some recessed luminaire models are also
extremely suitable in nursing environments where resting
patients have the ceiling in focus.

LightShift
LightShift is a dynamic concept that makes
it possible to mix the light’s colour temperature and intensity over the course of the
day, with regard to the natural light. An

LightShift has been developed within the
framework of Fagerhult’s “Light & Health”
research programme. The concept is based
on the light’s possibility to stimulate man’s
biological clock and with that influence wakefulness and rest. Using LightShift the user
can guide both the light’s colour temperature and the intensity over the course of
the day, with regard to the season and the
natural light. The luminaire starts from the
light levels and colour temperatures which
give the best effect in working rooms. The
fundamental principle is that colder light
and high flow give increased activity while
warmer light and lower flow is more restful.
LightShift balances the luminance conditions between the luminaire’s light surfaces
and the other room. The luminaire is based
on a unique combination of the Beta
louvre and Fagerhult’s microprismatic Delta
louvre. The Beta louvre gives an effective
working light while the Delta louvre gives
a better surrounding light, which increases
comfort. It also enhances the experience of
a natural light; a sky in the office.

LightShift is primarily intended for offices,
in direct connection to workplaces, but also
satisfies the demands for a well-planned
surrounding light. The light is directed
towards the ceiling and the vertical surfaces are slightly colder while the working
surface is experienced as warmer.
The mix is determined by the user and
is controlled with the help of a remote
control, but it is also possible to integrate
the luminaire in larger, time-controlled
groups. The combination of several light
sources with different effects and different
colour temperatures make it possible to
vary both the intensity of the light and its
colour temperature. In the morning, during
the early morning and just after lunch it is
appropriate with a higher intensity while
the light levels should be lowered slightly
towards the end of the working day.
LightShift is also available in a variant
without the mix function, which is also
based on the unique combination of the
Beta and Delta louvre. A slender aluminium
frame in grey, or white, contributes to bolster the slender form.

significance of ambient luminance and colour temperature for alertness, well-being and performance’. The purpose was, once and for all, to prove that the ambient luminance can make
us feel better. In the study we let test subjects work in a room where the ambient light and
colour temperature were changed from day to day. The result really showed that the level
of ambient light is the key element that affects our alertness and our well-being. The colour
temperature has a more individual significance and affects us emotionally, in which way can
vary from person to person and the time of day – whether there is daylight in the room or
not. We have converted this knowledge in LightShift, which makes it possible to adapt the
intensity of the ambient light, and the colour temperature, as needed and to the working
environment. Accordingly, LightShift can, in a concrete manner, affect our well-being during

Installation
Luminaire for recessed installation in ventilated or unventilated suspended ceilings. Two optional designs.
VTB – for suspended ceilings with visible T-bars 25 or
15 mm.
HB – for suspended ceiling with concealed T-bars.
Ceiling type plasterboard, suspended ceilings with
edge framing type C or D and for metal tile suspended
ceilings. Four fixing brackets are supplied for luminaire
type HB.
Connection
The luminaire is equipped with a 2.4 m mains cable and
earthed plug. Luminaires with dimming are supplied
with a 5-pole cable.
Design
Body and reflector of white enamelled sheet steel
(RAL 9003 structured finish).
Louvre
Delta – microprism louvre in acrylic TPb (PMMA). Frame
with louvres remains attached when opened.
Reflector
White enamelled sheet steel.
Dimming
Most models can also be equipped with other ballasts
for dimming.
Miscellaneous
Indigo Combo is designed to conform to EN 12464-1 in
the most relevant outputs.
