The Triple Helix of Cultural Heritages of Sciences, Technology, and University
National Cheng Kung University Museum, Tainan, TAIWAN (R.O.C.)
November 8-10, 2016
Nowadays, the universities have been the engines of industrial development since that close cooperation between the universities and the industry was started to facilitate and booster scientific and technological development after World War II. Thus, university museums are getting closer and closer with science and technology museums in terms of correlation and similarity in operation and management. But, due to the difference between individual institutions, there are varieties in orientation, function, and operation. The three kinds of museums constitute a close relationship while being different institutions in charge of cultural heritages. In the related matters, however, they are spinning around each other just like a triple helix.
In order to go further on discussing on the relationship among these three kinds of museums, we are to invite scholars and practitioners to present papers on the following issues:
1.
research and writing on the university’s history;
2.
history of engineering education;
3.
general issues on the university museum and cultural heritage on campus;
4.
museums of transportation technology: maritime, railway, aviation, and others;
5.

6.
