Installation instructions

In order to ensure a suitable hole diameter, the procedure in accordance with
StBK-N5 - 33:842K should be applied.
Clamp length
Wood = Screw length -30 mm
Steel = Fastened material + board etc. +
surface
Blind rivets
Blind rivets are installed in drilled or
punched holes, hole diameter = rivet diameter + approx. 0.1 mm.
KL
Concrete anchor (K31 - K35)
Drill a hole Ø 6.5 mm, depth at least 40
mm + thickness of the component.
Knock in the concrete anchor with a normal hammer. When installing steel components, the hole in the component
must be at least 8 mm, for thicker goods
8.5 mm.
Drilling screw
Use power driver with depth stop that
maintains a speed under load of 15002500 rpm when installing in material < 2
mm, and 1200–1800 rpm when installing in thicker materials.
Pipe flashers
1. Before making a hole in the surface,
mark out the best position for the
flasher.
2. Make an even hole with minimal tolerance for the pipe.
3. The flasher should also provide a
Self-tapping screw - without bit
Use an infinitely variable or low speed

watertight fit on the pipe. If the rubber needs to be cut to achieve the
correct fit, use a sharp pair of scissors and avoid notches in the edge.
4. Apply silicone on the underside of
the base, moisten the rubber with
water and thread the tank opening
over the pipe until it is in contact with
the surface.
5. Press the base against the contours
of the surface using your hands.
6. Secure the flasher at two points
(1 and 2, see fig.).
Continue to secure the flasher as illustrated to avoid gaps.
7. If there are sharp corners on the surface, use a blunt object to press the
base into position.
8. Seal with additional silicone around
the base.

Marutex®
Marutex® is a stainless steel drilling screw
that is made of a special stainless steel.
After heat treatment, the steel achieves a
hardness fully comparable with hardened
carbon steel. The Marutex® screw’s unique
drilling properties, in combination with very
high corrosion resistance, puts this screw
in a class of its own. Marutex® has obtained
a technical approval within the EU for use
up to and including corrosivity class C4.
Marutex® has been estimated having a
service life of 50 years.

U-nite Fasteners Technology AB now has
more than 20 years’ experience of painting construction and industrial screws.
During this time we have continually developed our technology, painting both with
wet paint and powder.

powder that gives a very hard-wearing
and even surface layer. Powder paint is
free of solvents, which we consider to be
a major advantage, benefiting both the
Wet paint
Our wet painting facility has the capacity
to paint 200,000 screws per shift. After
pre-treatment, the screw is painted with
two-component polyurethane paint.
Polyurethane paint is generally characterised by very good outdoor resistance and high resistance to mechanical
influences. The paint also offers good
colour resistance, without chalking or
fading, which makes it particularly suitable for acidic environments. The paint
we use has also been further adapted to
cope with the very tough treatment to
which it will be subjected. The colour
system is evaluated regularly and has
proven to satisfy extremely stringent requirements.

notice thanks to a very flexible manufacturing process.
Clasp and tin nails are stocked in some
ten colours.
Blind rivets, some dimensions are
stocked in five colours.
Construction and industrial screws can,
in most cases, be supplied in any colour
in accordance with NCS, RAL or according to colour tests. Construction
metal screws are stocked in around 15
standard colours. We also stock paint in
Verification/testing
In order to ensure high, even quality in
our paint systems, we take regular
samples from our production process.
Samples are taken from each consignment to check the resistance of
the paint to external influences/mechanical wear and for colour checking. Different types of corrosion test
are performed regularly to check colour systems and surface treatment.
Accelerated corrosion tests, salt spray,
humidity cabinet and SCAB tests are
conducted in co-operation with our
paint suppliers, as well as by independent testing institutes. We also
conduct field tests ourselves. Alongside our paint suppliers, we are continually developing our paint systems,
although no changes are implemented without extremely comprehensive
testing.

b
• Boverket’s (National Swedish Board
of Building, Planning and Housing)
design regulations BKR 99
• Thin sheet standard StBK-N5
The fastener must never be the weakest
link in a joint when subjected to shearing
loads.
For safety reasons, power-absorbing
joints must always have at least 2 fasteners.
The dimensioning values are specified
in kN/fastener and apply to safety class
1.
For safety classes 2 and 3, all the
specified values are divided by 1.1 and
1.2 respectively.
t is the thickness of the sheet nearest
the head of the fastener.
t1 is the thickness of the lower sheet.
If the joint is reversed, i.e. the fastener’s
head comes up against the thickest
sheet t1, adjust in all tables t = t1. The following load cases can occur:
