The Safety Controller will remain OFF if this step is not followed. A jumper wire across 3 & 4 will provide an Automatic Reset. A Normally Open Momentary Switch across 3 & 4 will provide a Manual Reset. See Below for Monitored Output Connection. Terminal 5 Black Terminal 6 White Terminal 7 Red Terminal 8 Green Terminal 9 Terminal 10 Terminal 11 Terminal 12 110/230VAC DIN RAIL 2.7”x2.5”x4.4” N/O Output 1 N/O Output 2 Automatic Reset When Automatic Reset mode is chosen, the Safety Control Relay will energize and close the Output Contacts when power is applied to the Safety Control relay and the Sensor is clear. An Automatic Reset condition is when the Zippswitch Sensor is pressed; Outputs 1 & 2 will open. When the Zippswitch Sensor is released (clear), Outputs 1 & 2 will close automatically. Do not use Automatic Reset if the risk of an unsafe condition is present when power is applied to the Safety Control Relay and the Sensor is clear. Manual Reset When Manual Reset mode is chosen and Power is applied to the Safety Control Relay, the Reset switch will need to be pressed to energize and close the Outputs. A Manual Reset condition is when the Zippswitch sensor is pressed; Outputs 1 & 2 will open. Reset will only occur when the Normally Open Momentary Switch across terminals 3 & 4 is pressed then Outputs 1 & 2 will close. Manual Reset provides a higher degree of safety. Monitored Output A Monitored Output Circuit will prevent the Safety Control Relay from Reseting if an output contact welds to a closed state. The Outputs of the Safety Control Relay can be monitored by using External Force Guided Safety Relays at the Outputs of the Safety Control Relay. See Diagram. Using type 1 N/O - 1 N/C Force Guided Relays will enable the circuit to monitor the state of each Output Relay. If one of the External Force Guided Relays were to have the Contacts Weld and remain closed, after the sensor is pressed and released, the Reset Circuit will will not be able to be reset until the fault is corrected. When Monitored Output mode is chosen and Power is applied to the Safety Control Relay, the Reset switch will need to be pressed to energize and close the Outputs. If a fault is detected in the Output Circuit, The Safety control Relay will not energize. Contact us today to discuss the benefits of using Zippswitch Products in your application.
