PTZ Composite Video Surveillance with control and 14 AWG power Why was it important to develop these products? Why was it important to develop these products? Industrial EngiNP249 neers need these solutions for their plants. In the event of a fire, they are faced with shutting down continuously running processes, preferably in an orderly, safe and efficient manner -- even through a fire event where control cables are potentially in the fire zone. NP256 motors, Besides their pan/tilt/zoom Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras have built-in heaters. The usual 18 AWG power conductors can not carry the AMPs the full distance when the cameras are farther than 300400 feet from the recorder or monitor. For situations requiring these extended distance cameras, the constructions with a 14 AWG power cable are the solution. What are the features & benefits/ advantages that these products bring to the market? What are the features & benefits/ advantages that these products bring to the market? A 14 AWG power leg has lower D resistance and voltage drop than the 18 AWG that are in 500PTZ-5002PTZ. That means extended power capability, approximately 500 to 600 feet. Always consult the camera manufacturer specifications. • Like all component cables, the 503PTZ and 504PTZ allow installers to work with one cable instead of multiples. That's one reel instead of three spools or boxes and just one cable pull. This saves installation and handling labor and makes a tidy installation. • Like all Banana Peel composites, these cables are easy to use and smaller since there is no overall jacket. • Because these cables utilize Belden's patented Banana Peel design with a unique center spline, they remain in their bundled configuration throughout installation and even when cut. What Markets will this product serve? Surveillance / Security system integrators. Usually for cameras located at the far reaches of larger campuses. What are the part numbers and descriptions? Continued Continued from page 4 5. Style 2 Access Control Cables - Style 2 Why was it important to develop these products? The variety of NP263 Access Door functions, devices and installer preferences requires additional cable configurations. A common solution set calls out: 1. An additional spare 22 AWG pair 2. Shielding is not necessary except for the card reader 3. The card reader need not be paired These cables serve this frequently requested configuration. What are the features & benefits/ advantages that these products bring to the market? • The additional spare 22 AWG pair is frequently useful. It has been placed in the Door Contact component leg. Many contractors prefer unshielded Lock Power, Door Contact and Request Exit components and 6/C 22 AWG (rather than 3 TP 22 AWG) Card Reader. This cable simplifies installation for contractors installing access doors compatible with this solution set. • The use of this new cable provides a great savings in labor installation costs. The primary alternative to using this cable is to install the 4 cables separately to address the separate door functions, which requires 30% (or more) greater installation labor. • Installers like the ability to see every leg of the cable exposed in the Banana Peel configuration rather than having to "guess" as to what components are under a jacket. What Markets will these products serve? Security market for Access Control System Integrators. What are the part numbers and descriptions? 558GMS (Riser Rated) Flamarrest® Insulation, PVC Jackets • Lock Power = 4 Con 18 AWG Unshielded • Card Reader = 6 Con 22 AWG Shielded • Door Contact = 4 Con 22 AWG Unshielded • Plus Rex/Spare = 4 Con 22 AWG Unshielded 658GMS (Plenum Rated) Flamarrest Insulation, Flamarrest Jackets • Lock Power = 4 Con 18 AWG Unshielded • Card Reader = 6 Con 22 AWG Shielded • Door Contact = 4 Con 22 AWG Unshielded • Plus Rex/Spare = 4 Con 22 AWG Unshielded EXIT Reader TYPE Why was it important to develop these products? The variety of Access Door functions, devices and installer preferences requires additional cable configurations. A common solution set calls out: Card Read at the Exit as well as for the Entry. These new cables serve this frequently requested configuration. There are various other scenarios for which the Standard configuration is improved by including 2 additional 22 AWG wires. These cables have those added in to the Request Exit component. What are the features & benefits/ advantages that these products bring to the market? • The additional spare 22 AWG pair is frequently useful This has been placed in the Request Exit component leg. Recall that "Style 2" also has 2 additional 22 AWG wires that have been placed in the Door Contact component. Increasingly, surNP256 veillance video cameras are using Optical Fibers for video. The associated cameras require Power for heaters and/or control motors for left/right panning. Like coax surveillance cables, these Fiber Optic composites put both camera services -Video and Power -- into one cable. What are the features & benefits/advantages that these products bring to the market? Like all composite cables, M98382 and M98383 allow installers to work with one cable instead of two. This saves installation and handling labor and makes a tidy installation. Having a standard to build around, equipment manufacturers and system integrators gain familiarity and confidence with one cable rather than redesigning each new installation. What Markets will this product serve? Surveillance / Security system integrators. A typical application is for cameras located at the far reaches of larger campuses. What are the part numbers and descriptions? Part No. Description M98382 (2) 62/5 μm Grade 2 Fiber + 2C 18 AWG 19x30 TC for power M98383 (2) 62.5 μm Grade 2 Fiber +2C 14 AWG 41x30 TC for power For more information, ask Belden Inside Sales for a copy of New Product Bulletin 256.
