Industrial Ethernet Technology

Belden Industrial Ethernet Cabling Range
Belden offer a choice of two ranges according to Ethernet protocol
being used:
• Profinet Cabling
A range of copper cabling conforming to PROFINET, the industrial
ethernet standard managed by PI International.
Suitable for use in the industrial environment, cabling is SF/UTP and
Cat 5e performance.
Green RAL 6018 Cable Jacket.
• Standard Industrial Ethernet Cabling
A range of copper cabling to support industrial ethernet and
associated networks such as EtherNet/IP™. Suitable for use in the
industrial environment, cabling is SF/UTP for Cat 5e and S/FTP for
Cat 7 performance.

• Cable types A and B have different jacket options to suit the specific industrial

PVC:
Minimum requirement for the general industrial environment
Good flame, heat and weather resistance
Oil resistant
X Contains halogens
X Poor gasoline, solvent, and radiation resistance
FRNC:
Good protection in the harsh industrial environment
Halogen free, premium FRNC compound
Flame Retardant Non Corrosive
Good flexibility
Oil resistant
PUR:
For high protection in the extreme industrial environment
Superior mechanical strength
Excellent flexibility, oil resistance
Halogen free
X Generally poor flame resistance
Belden jacket has flame resistance IEC 60332-1
Non cross linked weld-splatter resistant jacket available on request

Profinet Cabling Type C
• Type C for highly flexible, continuous movement applications,
permanent movement, vibration or torsion
Trailing:
Used for high mechanical stress, especially in
applications with frequent winding and
unwinding.
Torsion:
Flexible robotic cables designed for twisting
applications on robotic arms and other
applications that require rotary motion

Standard Industrial Ethernet Cable – Jacket Options
As with Profinet, stationary cable applications and flexible cable
applications have different jacket options to suit the specific
industrial environment:

PUR :
For high protection in the extreme industrial
environment
Cable types C for trailing and torsion applications are only
available with PUR jacket to suit these extreme applications.
