The wide acceptance of LED light

and produce minimal heat. Also, they are
generally far more resistant to physical
trauma than incandescent, halogen, and
fluorescent lights.
As LEDs become more pervasive, the
methods used to measure their light output
have evolved. The measurement of light in
lumens quantifies the magnitude of visible
light produced by a source. Lux measures
the intensity of light on an illuminated
surface. Lumen and lux measurements
provide a standard for evaluating light
sources, and are helpful in the comparison
of LED lights.
