Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 are reserved as reading days.
Final examinations are to be given at the time designated by the Registrar in the room in which the class normally meets, unless a different time or location is arranged by the instructor and approved by the dean of the relevant school.
No final examinations may be given during the last week of classes. Quizzes and tests may be given during the last week of classes if a final examination is also given during the university's final exam period. When an end‐
of‐unit test is the last examination in the course, it must be given during the final exam period designated for the course.
All courses in which take‐home papers, take‐home final examinations, projects or portfolios are assigned in lieu of an in‐classroom final examination must be due at the time designated by the Registrar for the course's final examination.
Final assessments that have a performance aspect, such as juries, critiques, presentations, performances, and oral exams, may take place during the last week of classes, or at mutually convenient times, owing to the difficulty of fitting them into the final exam period. Capstone courses and some courses at the 400‐level and above, because of the complexity of the final projects, may sometimes need to be assessed outside of the final exam period. However, no forms of assessment may take place on the reading days.
Students are expected to take final examinations at the designated time. Exceptions for individual students may be granted by the faculty member only in case of emergency.
Students who have three final exams scheduled for one day may request to have one of their exams moved to a different time. Students must make such arrangements before the last week of classes.
