An international conference on heat pipe science and technology organized
with the financial support of
Thales, ATHERM, Euro Heat Pipe and Calyos
Welcome to Lyon, welcome to the 16th International Heat Pipe Conference!
The International Heat Pipe Conference (IHPC) focuses on topics related to heat pipe science and
technology. It provides a forum for exchange of up-to-date information and experiences among
scientists and engineers from all around the world.
The 16th IHPC is the next in a series spanning over almost 40 years, from Stuttgart (Germany) in 1973
to Clemson (SC, USA) in 2010.
The conference topics include, but are not limited to:
• Fundamentals of thermal-fluid sciences related to heat pipes and closed two-phase
thermosyphons, CPLs, LHPs, oscillating heat pipes, mini/micro heat pipes, etc.
• Theoretical and experimental studies of heat pipes and thermosyphons, including CPL, LHP,
oscillating heat pipes, mini/micro-heat pipes, etc.
• Manufacturing process and material processing, including new developments of wicks, fluids,
materials, modeling of corrosion and life tests.
• Microelectronics and power electronics thermal control applications.
• Heat pipe and thermosyphon applications in industry, including heat pipe heat exchangers,
heat regenerators, vapor generators, fuel cells, new energy systems, etc.
• Aerospace applications of heat pipes, including spacecraft thermal control, space power
systems, space experiments and high speed aircraft applications.
• New development and applications of heat pipes.
